Quick question, should i go for the asus and wait(Fatboy can you confirm this will defiently be in for next week and can be delviered by next friday?), or for the XFX edition and have it by tuesday?

The cooling seems to be worth waiting for.

so happy i ordered the xfx 4870x2 and also the XSPC full cover razor HD 4870x2 all fitted perfect delivery was great and the temps on this thing are great now all temps below 50c apart from the mem io which gets to around 70c. thanks a lot overclockers these where my first order from you and will be ordered again in the furture from you guys. I doubt he can guarantee it, from working with suppliers myself I know their dates are always estimates and fairly regularly aren't accurate. You can only really be certain with the XFX as it's actually in stock, the Asus is going to be 'likely' rather than any kind of certainty.

With the way that this week has been with the Asus delivery I can not say anything for certain. It's the first time we have dealt directly with them so obviously there have been teething troubles hopefully with this next shipment the problems we had have now been ironed out. The XFX is in stock and you can get for Tuesday delivery and is guranteed or you can take a punt and wait to see what happens on the Asus part and if it fails order the XFX later in the week.

Yep, that is the main difference. The GPU, memory and shader are identical speeds on both cards and of course the both have the same amount of memory as well. One minor difference is that the Asus has a very slightly different layout of some of the chips on the PCB. This mainly important for those looking to watercool it as the XFX has the standard layout whereas the Asus does not. Full cover water blocks out at the moment are all designed for the standard layout and so will not work with the Asus.

If you do not plan on watercooling it in the future then you don't need to worry about this. As such, you should buy either depending on your preference for the air cooler that each comes with

Have to say the price of this card is a real bargain. I will be using this web site a lot more now. Shocked on how much cheaper the Graphics cards were compared to lots of competitors. Great forum also been reading posts on here for a few weeks now and its really helped me.
