Borderline with that unit I am afraid. Also depends on what else your running I would suggest purchasing a bigger unit 700w at least and a good quality one as well.

E8400 @ 4Ghz
4GB RAM
1 HD/DVD Drive.

Not a huge amount else.

The PSU has an 8 pin pci-e connector too (as well as a 6 pin)which I can only presume wouldn't be there if it couldn't power cards requiring the 8 pin power?

In theory it would be o.k but I don't know what power this card draws with the additional cooling etc. Could be fine but then again you might experience stability issues. Really is a borderline thing.

I'm like on the VERGE of purchasing this card but have a few problems that need to be answered thats pop'd up in some reviews of the 4870x2.

1. I'm hearing that the 4870x2 suffers from BAD minimum FPS in games, to the point thats its sometimes unplayable - as the TweakTown review is the only review I can find atm - anyone care to comment?

2. I'm hearing the 4870x2 won't have Crossfire mode enabled with windowed applications? I currently play a number of games windowed so I can quickly switch between Firefox etc - is this true?

While on the case of Window mode + Crossfire - how does this effect Dual Monitors? Aka I want to game on my 24" while watching a movie on my 52" HDTV.

That's correct, i believe the same is also true with an SLI setup so if you want to run windowed mode you would be better off with a single card solution.

Thanks for your reply - how does Crossfire coup with Multiple Displays? For example can I play a Fullscreen game on my 24" while watching a movie on my 52" HDTV or does this disable Crossfire also?

Following on from Simons question, and the following confirmation crossfire is not used in windowed mode,

Does the card require crossfire enabled, to use both the GPUs incorporated in the one card? reason i ask is because i game windowed a fair amount too.

Stock has arrived. Unfortunately too late to ship I am afraid. All back orders will be despatched tomorow.

Naww, that's a shame. Would have loved to have had it tomorrow! :p But that information is good enough for me, someone will be in the house on Monday so I don't have to worry about not getting for a few weeks now!

Cheers for the updates Fatboy.
