** ASUS DO IT AGAIN: IPS, 144Hz & FREESYNC!!! Asus MG279Q thread **

I hope they work for you!!

But :( I am not sure they will, because I didn't notice blurring text on the default settings. Then again I wasn't paying too much attention as I wanted to try games out ASAP.

Yeah, it's not bad blurring just slightly and noticeable more on certain letters  Maybe I should lay off the cider lol :)

Regarding the "And of course if you're using FreeSync, it isn't a valid comparison to compare to a 120Hz or 144Hz TN model." is this because (on this monitor) that Freesync is going to be 90Hz or less and therefore the image persistence will be higher than the 6.9ms(?ish) at 144Hz?

No freesync I have Radeon 7870...so how about your luck with monitor Terminator?

Let us know how you get on with it. What settings are you using?

The ones from tftcentral (apart from brightness)

Preset : Racing Mode
Contrast : 80
RGB : R 100 | G 96 | B96
Brightness : 50
Trace Free : 80
VividPixel : 50

From a few hours with it .... really seems like an amazing monitor :D

Try RPG mode with the same settings but change vivid pixel to 0 and Sharpness to 40 or 50 based on preference.

It's the best settings that I have found yet for this monitor.

Just got mine setup now, going to be testing for few hours now hopefully. First impressions is pretty good, the image does look quite soft, hopefully a small sharpness increase will help with that but its nothing too major, but you will have to adjust or get used it. Still looks clean and clear, just `soft` if that makes any sense :p

Slight uniformity issue but nothing problematic so far, 144hz is incredibly smooth on desktop, never had anything above 60hz for a very long time. Haven't touched colour settings, seems pretty accurate to me compared to my u2715h. Hopefully (prays) nothing bad to report later after testing it more.

Oh, came with a european plug?, had to use the Dell kettle and seems ok.

andddddd then it all goes down hill... Counted about 5 dead pixels, can see more specs too... Asus even put a QC Passed on the box.

"QC passed" means it turns on and doesn't blow up when it does so. ;)
Nah, too much work. There's a blind man sitting at the end of the production line who pokes it with his stick, then gives the thumbs up. Ironically this is what's causing so many of the stuck pixel issues.

Use it for a little while, I had what I thought were stuck pixels, within a few hours of use they are gone. Play some games and give a it a good run around and see what it is like tomorrow.

Can anyone else with this montior tell me if theirs has red IPS glow in the bottom right? On dark content the bottom right of the screen looks very red on mine(when there is not much ambient light / dark in the room it is worst)

Can't say I noticed any tinting issues, ips glow actually seemed quite low on mine. I've boxed mine up now though due to awful dead pixels, I am really begining to loath monitors. I just want to sit down and enjoy gaming, not be put off by bleed and pixel defects :sigh:

Even on a black screen in a dark room??
