ASUS Eee Pad Transformer 2

Seems that its $499 for a 32GB version but seems like that comes sans-keyboard dock which is an extra $149. $599 for a 64GB but again comes with a Micro SD slot for expansion, I can't help but feel that in the UK we're going to see £500 for the 32GB and £600 for the 64GB if thats without the dock then its not as well priced as hoped.

I doubt they would do a direct $ = £ conversion but I wouldn't be surprised at the T2 being £400 for the base version as the rrp. Retailers may then battle to drop that price as they know it will be popular.

Regardless, I'm getting one :D

I'll get the 32gb version which will be more than enough for the tablet alone. Then I'll pick up a 32gb SD card for the dock as SD speeds can be much faster than microSD.

I want one, but I still can't think of an actual reason to own one :/. What do you use it for? I think I'm better off waiting for W8 tabs to appear, at least I can completely replace my netbook then.

I'll get the 16gb version which will be more than enough for the tablet alone. Then I'll pick up a 32gb SD card for the dock as SD speeds can be much faster than microSD.

There is no 16GB version, but the 32GB version should be around £400.

Ho boy, looks like the UK will only get the 32GB version, which will be £499 bundled with the keyboard and we won't get it till early January 2012. Seen this reported here:

Which means I may be forced to buy something else as I need to get something that can play video in the car to keep my 1 year old Son amused. This was going to be the perfect solution, tablet for me, entertainment for my Son...

get him a teddy bear or Lego ;)

Hmm, other reports saying December is a worldwide release date so I wonder if one UK tech site guessed at January and all the others dutifully copied and pasted the line into their own news...

Just woke up - the specs are pretty awesome!

They have literally improved every area over the MK1 model.

Battery life
As for battery life, we initially heard reports of 14.5-hour runtime, but ASUS is now saying the tablet alone can squeeze out 12 hours thanks to a 22Wh battery, and that the dock will add an additional six hours of juice.

crazy - 18 hrs max.

Looks great, they've finally added a hydro-oleophobic coating to prevent fingerprint smudges on the screen (hopefully some anti glare too!)

Any 'hands on' vids yet?

This is Asus here - not gimped fruity products :D. Best bang for buck - a good camera will always come in handy.

That tegra 3 video is cool - will the companion core itself be enough to play HP MKV's?

For pottsey - this should get you out of depressed mode:

Finally there’s a lovely set of videos showing you exactly what it means for game developers and gamers to be working with the Tegra 3 chipset. The first video shows off how next-generation games are being made specifically for this chipset, developers working hand in hand with NVIDIA to optimize their games for the Tegra 3 so that gamers can get the most awesome experience in mobile history. Devour this, if you will:
