Noticed the fact they have dropped the PCH fan they used on the Extreme and gone with a beefier heatsink instead.

Anyone know what effect this will have?

You didn't need the fan on the old one I never used it.

Interesting, may ditch the waterblock next time I'm altering the loop and just go back to the stock cooler then.

I run on air and have the PCH fan switched off all the time, to be honest there is no need for a fan as the chip doesn't get that warm.

So I went a bit mad (well a lot actually) and bought a load of bits for my new build back in Oct when it was thought this board would be out mid - late Oct. (as quoted originally in this thread)

The parts are gathering dust waiting for the board and so I have not been able to check they are all in working order. (Trying them in an existing rig is not an option)

Once/assuming the BE does arrive at some point - will I still be okay returning any faulty parts even after say two months have past since I bought them ?

You'll generally have 1 year to return faulty goods for replacement.

None!! Fan no need!!!!

EK are going to have a waterblock out for this board middle of next month. PCH won't need it, but always helps on the volt regs.

The problem still exists with the VRM's on the rear of the board. To be honest unless your pushing 1.45+ V its no need to water cooling!!
