ASUS Rampage IV Black Edition: The Ultimate LGA2011 Motherboard

Could you elaborate on this please? Back of the board meaning the VRMs right at the top or?

I think he means were the big black cover is on the left side of the board were the big Rampage logo is. Tbh id rather remove this and put a vrm/mosfet block on it.

There's mosfets on the underside of the board, directly underneath the ones on the topside. If you stick a waterblock on the ones on the topside, it'll also help cool the ones underneath to a lesser degree.

If its the end of the month instead of the 18th don't you think ocers shoot them selfs in the foot allowing pre orders nearly 3 months early most people who have bought this mobo need it and many cant and aren't willing to by a cheap mobo to use cause it may not be compataible without a bios update with the 4820k and so on

ive read it, and i cant see if anything in it that will mean i will see a noticeable gaming improvement if i get this board over my existing rive.

just trying to get some confirmation from more knowledgable people that its not a worthwhile purchase for me.

If i had an R4E i wouldnt bother. The only reason why im considering it is because my motherboard died otherwise i woulda waited for Haswell-E.

Oh I see, thank you. I will be putting a waterblock over the VRMs, yes, see how that does. I'm now curious to measure the temp on the ones underneath actually, assuming this board ever ships  (going on 3 months pre-order now from ocuk..)

Its funny they bang on about how its a record breaker and stuff like that but cant actually get it out to the public, if it takes to long ill have to cancel my order also, this doesn't do OCER's any favour as they have to deal with a lot more work
