The alternative is we stop trying to make any income from the site at all and just stop doing reviews altogether as it then becomes unsustainable. Fair enough thanks for the donations over the years, and I appreciate subscribing is not for everyone. Although having said that plenty of people sub for 1 month when there’s content they particularly want, then unsubscribe til later so that’s always an option

I’ve been told today, after I received the unit I might add, that there’s a global review embargo until 19 April. So expect our review (and others) to land then. Gives us plenty of time to do thorough testing

Seriously? The monitor seems to be already available for purchase in my country (Czech republic), but I want to see some reviews before I make a purchase.

Perfectly understood and I already knew about the need of income because you guys are actually helping people and monitors are not cheap.

Why my hate towards patreon? Literally one reason: modding communities like GTA. They've become toxic and most of patreon owners behaves like arrogant aholes, disrespecting the people who are subscribed to them and most of the mods are half-finished. Patreon should be never made for modding communities, only to people like you.

Yeah I know, and also released in the US. I think it’s probably related to very low stock volumes and the desire to line up reviews for a little later on as it starts to appear. It’s barely available properly anywhere yet.

Well the LG 27GR95QE-B has had reviews long ago and still nobody knows when it's going to release in my country. The Asus has only 1 unit available in a reputable shop, I could order it right now and have it on Monday, but I'm hesitant without some trustworthy reviews.

Nothing new, Asus their oled monitors have this stupid habit to have bad contrast ratio. Look on Amazon US for Asus PQ22UC. It's trash. In 2019 I tried the Asus PQ22UC and it's worse indeed. I returned it after exact two days. I have no idea how Asus can mess this bad because Eizo Foris Nova had perfect contrast ratio and they are both the same panel. I'll wait for more reviews and if still bad, I'll simply re-order the LG 27GR95QE.

This is an OLED panel so it should be capable of true blacks and basically infinite contrast ratio. It’s using the exact same panel as the Lg too. So unless Asus have done something that’s caused raised blacks, or the testing was dodgy, I don’t see how this is possible

Well I'm jealous then, would buy the LG without hesitation. I've contacted like 5 shops including official LG shop and nobody has any idea when it's going to be released here, not even their suppliers.
