ATI cuts 6950 allocation

I found that the noise level (... fan speed) when clocked (800Mhz) wasn't too different from stock, so long as I didn't touch the voltage. Once I started adjusting the voltage it made a big difference to the stabilised fan speed in games though.

But as I said earlier, noise levels are highly subjective, so you might be a lot more sensitive to it than me. Also, case ventilation makes a big difference (I have a HAF-X with a slow 120mm fan in the duct).

Stay away from vanilla cooled 480/470 gtx.
They will make ur ears bleed.
Mind u, for 200£ get a zalman cooler for additional 30£.
Sorted.

No idea mate, just an idea. If OCUK has already got these (since yesterday I believe!) why wait a week to release the product? You could do it Friday, Monday, but why wait a full week?

I imagine other retailers will be the same.

Remember that the 570 GTX stock started to come in Monday and even Tuesday during the day.

Only OcUK has stock right now, others have not even had stock shipped to them yet, all I can say is OcUK will have more and our price will be very competitive, think back to how good the 58xx launch was and how surprisingly cheap they were at launch. The 69xx series shall repeat this, so do be warned after launch prices could creep up, thats just a heads up. ;)

Those after a cheap 480, give me a few days and I might be able to offer a cheeky deal on MSI/Gigabyte cards. :)

Any word on the size of the 6970s gibbo? :p

Also some cards just run hotter due to having higher factory set voltage...

Without being out of line OCUK said this before, look at my account history to see how much i used to buy fact is you getting more expensive every month compared to others, you say the 80% of business is new customer would it not make sencce to keep the ones you have? . If the ATI 6XXX is the same or less then the other etailers ill will buy on launch from here i just wont pay more Please delete if you feel im out of line. :)

No, that's fair enough Al. I buy lots of PC stuff, but rarely from here any more. The SSD I just bought was £25 cheaper elsewhere.

So RavenXXX2 you still think the 6970 will beat the 580 by 30 to 40 percent??? I hope you realize that you may have influanced a lot of people, and a lot of money, becasue of what you said . I hope it was for the better (6970>580) but more than likely it was for the worst :(

I don't see what the issue is TBH?? It is not like the GTX580 will suddenly disappear off the shelves once the HD6970 is released! If the HD6970 is faster for a similar price then the GTX580 may go down in price and if not the GTX580 will probably be around the same price it is currently.
