nice edit... anyhow I've just trawled through most of the main public forum/tech sites sa, xs, etc. and I can't find any suggestion of 1536SP previous to 7th Nov and most of those are claiming it would be the "6930" or similiar.

EDIT: And just to be clear - I'm not saying the 6970 will be 1536SP tho everything seems to point to it so far - only that I have a source (one I consider reliable) who is making that claim - I'm still hoping the 6970 actually turns out to be a 1920 SP card. For the record I first posted about it on the 29th Oct if anyone does want to check for previous info before that date.

What thread did you first claim this in Rroff ? and when did your source first tell the chip spec ?

http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?p=17672832#post17672832 IIRC I found out the afternoon before. I was told it was a 900-1000MHz 1536SP card tho not 880MHz. Its possible part of the delay is due to insufficent quantities that could do the clockspeed they wanted.

how come if the shop in germany has alegedly sold 3 of these cards, we have not seen any other leaks from the other 2 ?
suely a retailer wouldnt sell befoe nda is lifted ?
has this been done before ?

Maybe the other 2 were just average gamers who wanted the "latest and fastest" card and aren't clued up enough to know what they have... I mean you should see how many people bought GTX295 QUAD SLI as the "latest and fastest" and didn't know any better even after the 5970 was released.

Your getting the benefit of the doubt on the SP count from me, as the timing is borderline and you must have at least got wind of the rumours early.

Anyway we are all missing something significant with the cards IMO, and I bet its something that becomes painfully obvious on the 15th.

Looking at them specs I think the 6950 and 6970 are going to priced very close together. If not I would buy the 6950 and clock it.

looks similar to 58** launch 5850 wasn't far away from 5870. looking at performance leaks if they tend to be legit , if the price corresponds with performance.

6950 for 220 ~ 250
6970 for 290 ~ 320

buy 6950 and clock it to 6970 performance

If the performance is roughly as suggested so far they are gonna struggle to price it beyond that.
