I'm going to have 2 browser windows open Wednesday morning I think - one on a page to buy a 5870 or 470, the other for the 4970/4950 reviews - as I'm worried the latter 2's prices my jump up lol

if HD 6970 turn out to be like that maybe just maybe possible that buy the HD 6970 for £200-250 and when i get extra money i can buy 384 shaders for £100 ( i know its somewhat stupid but more ppl can buy high end product this way )

all the cards would have the default amd bios then the manufactur would put they own custom bios on

Well, he had bought his cards before you did exchange your GTX580 for two GTX470s.

You paid £370 for those.

He got one GTX470 on offer for some silly money with a game to sell over and GTX465, I believe, that got unlocked to full GTX470.

Yeah he didnt buy them first for cheaper money, but he's on water.
Add some waterblocks to the mix for 30-40£ each.

C'mon guys, there's something wrong with these benchmarks, HD6970 is barely faster than HD5870. Why would AMD rename their cards to 6900 if it wasn't going to be absolute high-end?

Because 6800 is already taken by the cards that should have been called 6700.

For ppl in the know. Dual bios boards have been done before. I know I had one.
Gainward gs 4870.

But looking at those benches not even turbo will help much....
