Audi owners in here!

Chaps,

Bit of advice on buying brand new please.

I've been into the local Audi dealership. Spec I've looked at is:
A3 2.0TDI 184ps S-Line, comfort pack, heated seats, heated mirrors and couple of small extras.

They have basically taken the price off the website, broken it down into the usual 3 year PCP costs and added GAP and Life Shine.

It's gonna be around £345/pm 36 payments, 12k lump at the end. Standard stuff I assume...

Are these guys negotiable under these circumstances, before I put my deposit down to get one built?

Cheers.

Brother picked up his company car for the next 6 months A4 2.0 TDI black edition

Don't buy GAP from a dealer (look at www.ala.co.uk or www.easygap.co.uk instead), and Life Shine is a ridiculously overpriced wash and polish.

Did you get a quote from drivethedeal.com to compare?

Hi guys

Anyone know why, when I add music on to my 2gb standard SD card only a few songs show up on the screen? No matter what I try it only displays maybe say one album out of 10.

Any help would be great as its real annoying :(

Edit: Got it to work by shoretening the file names. Ace!

Wouldn't it be better to get an approved used? The price difference can be quite big for only a year difference

That could be true, if you actually pay the full price for the car. But buying new often comes with big dealer discounts, and lower APR. You usually need to go to 18 months or so before you actually make any significant savings.

To MarkA. That would be ridiculous. DO NOT take that deal. Drive the deal are taking £2700 off the price of that car (assuming Sportback here). I would be speccing up the car you want from there, get their price, and ask your local dealer to match it.

Then ask them to match the GAP insurance from the likes of www.ala.co.uk or www.easygap.co.uk, or else just take it from them.

And obviously bump the life shine, and find a reputable local detailer to give the car the once over (in fact, if you can arrange it, tell Audi not to give it the pre-delivery clean / polish, and have your detailer do it for you).

Is the A3 the size of car you actually want? You can get a A4 Avant (or Saloon) Black Edition for the same price (roughly) as a result of higher achievable discounts.

Wow, nearly a 5k saving from this site. What's the process?

Are they all Audi dealers from around the country? I've put all my details in and requested a finance quote from them. Hopefully hear back soon. Cheers for this btw!

That was a fairly decent engine. Had one in my old A3, and worked well.

Then I had a 143 A4 TDI, that averaged around 40 mpg, then a 177 TDI that averaged around 36 mpg. Now I could have just got bad ones, but the poor fuel economy from them two has put me off VAG diesels for good now.

Next time I look at a VAG, if I ever do, it will be a 2.0T or 3.0T. No other engine interests me in their range.

Probably actually less efficient. Despite what the brochure tells you. My A4 177 Black edition performed 30% under the official figure for combined use. A terrible outcome for, what I consider to be, a terrible engine.

For comparison, my 335d BMW was a little over 1 mpg better, on average, but with a much faster driving style.

My A6 2.0 177 averages 48-51mpg, in fact it exceeded the official 57mpg figure on one occasion. Seems like a nice engine, no problems, quiet and refined for a 4 pot diesel and doesn't cost much to service etc.

Getting around 42mpg average in a 1.8t FSI A3 S-Tronic if that is of any help.

Something wrong with a 2.0tdi getting less!

I just picked up a mk6 golf with the 2.0TDi CR140 engine and its easily returning well over 60mpg on a run, seems these engines can be a bit hit and miss economy wise i'm guessing the extra weight and possible quattro in the a4 doesn't help.
