Audi owners in here!

We had an B6 A4 back when they were new, and had the 'Symphony' stereo with built in 6CD changer. Pretty much once a year it would jam, and the local Audi dealer would replace the stereo with a new one. They would send the old stereo off to Germany. About a month later we would then get a package in the post from Germany with our 6 CDs in it. Rinse and repeat. I don't know what was up with the CD changer every time, must have been a design flaw.
One time Dad had loaded it with CDs of Classic War Movie Themes :p.

To be fair to it, it had a feature where it would record the Traffic Announcements on the radio from before you turned it on - so you could get into the car on your driveway and listen to the traffic announcement from half an hour ago before you then set off. Pretty cool for back then :).

exeo? sounding like my dad's suggestions xD I've had my heart set on an audi for so long so it's 4 rings or nothing :p

going to try and use the value given by insurer to barter the price down a little :) or try at least haha!!!

looking from the pic TBL I think it's the single CD version of that. by the cd port on the left it only has the eject button taking the two spots where you have eject and load buttons. little bother though as single mp3 cd is what I'm used to. so after some time and looking around I'll look into some Nav installs I've seen on audizine forums.

the S/RS4 is for a few years down the line xD

ay I think I remember reading they actually just moved the entire production/machining/assembly machines from the a4 b7 factory, dumped them in the seat factory, made some tweeks and called it the exeo :D

but still.... to me it's not the same :(

Saw an A3 for sale from a trade seller, nothing suspect about the ad, good pictures, good title etc, but this content raised an eyebrow...

"THIS IS ONE BAD BOY INNIT!!
GREY, LOW MILAGE, DRIVES LIKE ITS DONE 30000,A PLEASURE TO BREAK THE SPEED LIMIT IN,ITS QUICK!!"

Except it IS the same. Only a massive badge snob would pick the Audi over the Seat because you are getting NOTHING extra for your money. It is the *same* car made from the *same* parts. They just tweaked the front grille/bumper and rear bumper/bootlid, that all. You even get the better interior from the A4 Cab.

It's an A4. But it's newer and better value than the equivilent A4.

Why buy a 2006/2007 A4 when you can buy exactly the same car from 2010 for the same money?

I'm all for buying premium brand cars when you get something over and above non premium cars but in the case of Exeo v A4 it's bonkers. You can even get the 2.0TFSI engine with it..

The A4 B7 and EXEO are exactly the same, the panels are the same, the interior is from a A4 Cabrio, suspension and engines, again exactly the same. The only difference is the nose cone and headlights.

If you really want an A4 fair enough, save up a bit more and get the B8 which is a much much better car.

The only reason I went for the B7 was because the Exeo didn't come with the 3.0 TDi lump

I could get a Golf instead of an A3 because it is just as good and less expensive, but I don't want a Golf.

Sometimes that is all it boils down to. :p

It's not the same thing though, the Golf and the A3 share tech but are different cars on the same platform. The Exeo *is* the B7 A4. It's not like a B7 A4, it's not on the same chassis as a B7 A4, it actually IS the B7 A4.

It just smacks of badge first, car second. 'Always wanted an Audi'.... 'badge'. If you'd always wanted an Audi because of the feel of the interior, the way they drive, the engine, etc then an Exeo would satisfy that.

It's all about the bling though, innit. Which is why everything on the road these days is a 1.6 diesel M Sport AMG Super Ultra Plus Sportback Sport Super Sport with 50bhp and LED's everywhere. Bling first. Substance second.

True but it still doesn't look as nice as a B7 A4, the back end looks confused and dated for starters.

I would much rather have an Exeo 2.0TFSI to an A4 2.0 FSI, so it isn't all about bling, but if the option was 2007 B7 A4 2.0 TFSI vs 2010 Seat Exeo 2.0 TFSI, I would probably get the former as I'd be happier to see it in the morning, if that makes sense.

damn slooowwww traffic!!! IT'S HOT!!!!

I get what you're saying Fox and on the most part agree with you. But to echo what Acme said, what would I be happier to wake up and see in the morning every day, and for me that's the audi. :)

I feel like I've hit a nerve with you by wanting this audi over of the seat. don't get me wrong, I do appreciate the input and opinions.....but....this is a car I have always had my heart set on(going on 10 years now starting with my dads a4 avant). sappy? yeah I know :p  badge snobbery? I suppose you could say to some extent but it doesn't change the fact that this is a car I've always wanted, so why not get the thing that makes me happy?

sure I could have gotten an octavia years ago for cheaper and been done with it but it wouldn't bring the same childish grin to my face :D even just being on the phone to the guy at the dealership I was giddy with excitement and anticipation :p

besides... it's not a done deal yet so I may still be saved ;) (seeing as it's a seat dealership I'll have a look around too ;) )

It only makes you happy because you've convinced yourself you need that badge to say 'Audi' ;)

Remember guys, nothing says you've made it like a second hand German car :p

I dont get the 'want' for the A4, it looks old, feels old inside and isnt anything special to drive. Fair enough if it were the RS4, but the boggo A4 isnt special now, even the B8, which is knocking on 7 years old, isnt all that. Early B8's would be the best bet for my money.

But the heart wants what it wants :)
