It only makes you happy because you've convinced yourself you need that badge to say 'Audi' ;)

Remember guys, nothing says you've made it like a second hand German car :p

haha xD cue "see man driving a german whip" *face palm* oh good lord....

you could be right... brainwashed myself :p see if the magic is still alive tomorrow :)

and yeah, it's a case of each to their own Tinders :D they still get all of my hnnnnggggggggggg's :p

got quote from admiral for the swap over and had a quick talk about mods. if it's the radio it doesn't matter, that's covered up to £1000 and just have to let them know with no change to my policy premium :D which is nice :)

at least I'm not getting a diesel right? :p (for my excessive.... sub 10k miles a year)

To be fair to it, it had a feature where it would record the Traffic Announcements on the radio from before you turned it on - so you could get into the car on your driveway and listen to the traffic announcement from half an hour ago before you then set off. Pretty cool for back then :).
I don't know how to do that!

It's not the same thing though, the Golf and the A3 share tech but are different cars on the same platform. The Exeo *is* the B7 A4. It's not like a B7 A4, it's not on the same chassis as a B7 A4, it actually IS the B7 A4.

It just smacks of badge first, car second. 'Always wanted an Audi'.... 'badge'. If you'd always wanted an Audi because of the feel of the interior, the way they drive, the engine, etc then an Exeo would satisfy that.

It's all about the bling though, innit. Which is why everything on the road these days is a 1.6 diesel M Sport AMG Super Ultra Plus Sportback Sport Super Sport with 50bhp and LED's everywhere. Bling first. Substance second.
To be fair, it is nice cutting everyone up on the motorway knowing my badge allows me to.

A bit like BMW drivers who don't signal!

I don't know how to do that!

Read the manual :p. There's been loads of cars in between, but roughly...

To listen to a recorded announcement you pressed the TP button (like turning TP off and on). The display would show TP Memo and the time that the announcement was recorded. You could scroll through the saved announcements to play them by using the knob (not the volume knob, the other one).

To set the times that it recorded announcements from, you went into the settings (Menu button). It would then start recording traffic announcements for two hours from the time you set. There were two timers, so you could set one for the morning commute and one for the evening commute. IIRC you either used the buttons or the knob to enable the timer and set the time.

Well...no audi yet :p was pretty decent, few scratches here and there but unfortunately it didn't have the required split rear seats :( despite me asking specifically on the phone about them and being told "yep it has them, just been out to check".

Guy asked how could I tell and I showed him in the boot...see....it's not split. :p

So cruising back home with my father now with the roof down in his a3 cab ;) and getting tasty mpg, 260 miles on the trip meter (not just today) and not even at the 3/4 full mark yet :p

The hunt continues :D

I find that VAG fuel gauges are a bit hopeless, I can get 160 miles out of the first quarter tank in my Polo according to the gauge, and its in the bottom of the red on the fuel light 200 miles later. Dad says his A6 is similar. :p

Stupidly, Audi gauges aren't linear like that [TW]Fox, he's probably used nearer 1/2 of the actual tank even though the gauge will show only 1/3 used. From the mileage I get I know mine is 1/2 full way when the gauge is on 2/3 as, like Acme posted, you can get 1/3 of the tank used before it even moves off the full mark.

Lol yeah 900 is wishful thinking. Just dropped me off and the gauge was reading a hairline under half a tank and that's covered 430 miles! !! But he knows he'll only get another 130ish on what's left :) said the most he's had on a tank was 640ish :D

How big is the fuel tank though? I can squeeze 46 litres into the Polo :p

Only gets me about 350 miles on a typical tank though. Mostly urban driving sadly, some traffic...

So about 35mpg average from a tank. I think I get mid 40's on the motorway but its hard to tell since I don't drive 100% motorway on any tank and I have no fuel computer. :(

Not hard to tell, just fill it up every time, note litres and miles, and calculate. Easy.

To do that I would have to fill up just before going on the motorway, note how many miles I drove on the motorway, then fill up immediately after coming off of the motorway, because as I said I never use a whole tank on the motorway.

I'm not that fussed anyway. :p

The fuel tank in the S3 is useless and so is the filling neck. I cannot use a petrol pump at full whack and it cannot take the throughout so it takes me twice as long to fill up...

6 miles later and it's already showing that I've used a third of a quarter of a tank!
