Audi owners in here!

That's not the current A3 though is it?

I've got a 64, A3 Sport, it's only a 1.6 TDI, and it's only a Sport but it's quiet (even for a diesel) it's very comfortable and the amount of ways you can adjust the seats is excellent. But yes, it's pretty sluggish in 1st gear as most diesels tend to be, after that it's perfectly good for normal road usage.

The interior finish in a 1 series is much worse, the A3 is a lovely place to be.

Each too his own though?

I think he means the 2015 face lift rather than the 2014 that got the Ultra engine. The Ultra engine is much better than the one it replaced.

Correct, I will be needing a new car for work next year so I'm doing my home work now.

I'm interested in the Ultra version as I already drive an 3 series ED so I kind of got used to the low emissions.

I do like the interior to be totally honest. I am looking at a 5 series ED or maybe the new Jag XE or the A6 Ultra.

They don't do a 5 Series ED anymore as the regular SE has sufficiently low emissions that there wasn't a place in the range for it. Which is just as well as it really didn't suit the range, had a silly manual box ;)

So got an A1 1.4 TFSI S-Line as a loan car whilst my car is being serviced. Nice little car and drives well but rather basic inside (guess Audi don't like adding extras like climate control to there loan cars :P).
Weird driving a manual again also, missed the DSG!

There are some approved used TT MK3s on the Audi site already. Look like demo cars have been put up early (all available from feb)

They are defiantly started to grow on me in terms of look, but the price is way too high. The Daytona grey one is similar spec to my MK2 which I got in March for a lot less than 30k.

I drove the new TT last week; wasn't impressed at all. Engine sounded miserable, the car felt very generic and I wasn't entirely sold on the instrument cluster. Nothin' redeeming. I don't even like the way it looks, although that's a personal thing.

The TTS may be a different beast though. Maybe it'll grow on me.

To be fair isn't that how all none and some S Audi's feel :p for a VW/Audi engine to sound good it needs at least five cylinders.

Truth.

the lump in the S3 8P sounds more like a diesel sometimes :o
It sounds appalling! I can't believe they didn't spend some effort to make it sound just even a little bit nice. Shocking.

On a positive note, I found a third redeeming feature on my 8P S3 (other than the power and spec) - the mini sun visor behind the rear view mirror - very useful!

I hope you know about the storage compartment under the drivers seat too. :p

Aye. Rediscovered the little storage tray next to the ESP button today as well :o

It's weird, I absolutely adored my Z3 Coupe. Caressed it, spoke to it. But this.. This is just a machine. So bland, so soulless :(
