Audi owners in here!

has more torque.

Useful for being a diesel bore in the pub I guess :p

I would happily swap my diesel for a petrol engine with less torque, because torque at the flywheel is useful mostly for bragging.

The 184PS 2.0 is a perfectly decent engine. Fox just has a pathological hatred of all four cylinder diesels.

It's an agricultural tool, it's noisy, the power delivery is lumpy and the NVH sucks. If you don't absolutely need one, then don't get one. It makes sense when you've got big miles to cover but if you can get away with the smooth and refined petrol that just shuts up when driving around town at low speeds then definitely do so.

Focus was about to start costing money so it's on the chopping block. Put a deposit down on this yesterday. Looking forward to it!

I like the new A3 but they're ****ing expensive!

What did the Focus need? Tyres? :p

This one is used, but only 10k on the clock so I'm pretty happy, and I haggled them down a touch.

The Focus' front brakes were noisy and worn to about 20%, and it's started a rattling sound from the engine bay that I can't locate. I love the Focus but 3 years in it's time has come. Plus it only gave me 33mpg and just not enough Oomph, just wanted... a bit more car i suppose.

What is the spec on the A3?

It's the 1.4TFSI Sport, Manual, and the options on it are 18" Alloys (they're not my favourite but eh), Headlight Washers, LED runlights, Xenons, Rain/Light sensors, Cruise Control, Rear Parking Sensors. I think that's the stuff included in Comfort Pack, Xenon Pack, and Interior Light pack.

As far as I've seen the 2.0TFSI is far more reliable than the TDI. Obviously their are fewer TFSIs around but the TDIs commonly have injector and turbo issues.

As someone who has been on the receiving end of a "bad" 2.0 TFSI (A5 Sportback S-Line 211) and reading up on them to death there is an issue (or issues) with the 2.0 petrol engines

I was a "victim" of the excessive oil consumption (tested and verified by Audi) and subsequently having an engine rebuild (cylinder heads, con rods, injectors) by Audi at there expense and the car in the garage almost a month, not something I would want to go through again.

So, all sorted - not quite - had three injectors go over the next 12 months and having no faith in the car / engine I decided to swap

It was my first petrol in over 10 years and the huge enjoyment it initially gave me was badly soured by the experience.

Just swapped it yesterday for a 3.0 TDI A5 S-Line Multitronic :)

Nah, the navigation/control of the jukebox is better than the navigation/control of plugged in devices, be they USB or SD. I hate having to use SD card (my Jukebox is full).

Besides, I use the USB (AMI) slot to give the car internet access and google maps integration, far more useful.

Whats the difference between using the SD slot and the Jukebox ?

Also the AMI slot - if you use an AMI to USB can you connect a phone (lead from phone with USB connector) via USB to the AMI to USB lead :

AMI > AMI to USB Cable > USB to Phone Cable > Phone ?

I believe you get around 20GB of the 40GB disk for Jukebox functions.

It behaves almost identically to a plugged in (dock connector based, not lightning) iPod/iPhone. I used to use my iPod via AMI port, until I started using that for my hacked google maps integration.

For music playing you mean? If the phone can expose it's music storage as a standard mass storage device then it ought to work.

Mine isn't hacked so I don't need that :p

In theory, yes you can do exactly that. The SD card doesn't let you browse or search by artist, genre, playlist, album or cover flow. Jukebox does.

I wasn't paying the extra for £15 worth of hardware :p

System in mine is obviously a little different. Only have 10GB jukebox storage which is flash memory rather than HDD. SD cards do allow browsing by metadata and, with two SDXC slots, you can get a bonkers amount of storage.
