Audi owners in here!

After reading some horror stories, and {SAS}TB's account on here, I've pretty much ruled out an A5 TFSI which I've been looking at the last few weeks.

My S3 2.0 TFSI doesn't have a drinking problem though.

I guess you'll just have to get an S5 then. :p

As I thought, the petrol version ( 1.8 / 2l ) does not make good sense with the lottery of pricing a car that does not have the potential risk of an engine rebuild costing 3 to 4 k

Mum has finally decided to buy her own car and stop stealing mine, result! It's the 225 BHP version of the 1.8T, a very nippy little thing. Whoever decided to put rear seats in these instead of extending the boot space clearly only has amputees as friends, not even a child could fit back there.

Can anyone point me in the right direction for adding an aux/iPhone connection for music? Standard head unit as far as I'm aware and would prefer to keep that if possible.

Are there any connections in the glove box? Probably unlikely though for that age car.

Don't know much about the mk1, sorry. Check out the mk1 section over on the TT forum, a lot of useful information there.

Out with the old!

In with the new.

Sad to see the old boy go when i drove away from the dealership but immediately drove 4 hours to Manchester and it was a dream.

1st Gen iPod Touch works fine, although no album art but I dont really care. I might throw it all on an SD as the iPod is 16gb. I remembered the iPod thing just as I was about to leave and asked the guy if he could throw in an AMI cable. That was £42.50 saved right there!

Things i hate: The stupid electronic handbrake.
Things i love: Everything else.

Oh, i did notive after arriving home that the Parcel Shelf Cord (that make sense?) is broken, the little rubber bolt thing on the end of the cord. Can i just ebay one or should I contact the dealer?

Not having to manually turn it off is wonderful.

Agreed. So much so that I won't replace my A4 with anything that doesn't have an electronic parking brake.

I'd have a nicely specced A3 saloon were it not for the fact they are still using the antiquated key!

Ill be honest i've gotten into my A3 three times today and sat for ten seconds trying to work out why it wasnt starting. The Focus was keyless. I'm going to miss just having my keys in the bottom of my bag.

Blue collar cable? The red collar one will do artwork if you want to get it swapped.

A guy I work with is also having a mare - his Mrs has a 2.0 TFSI A5 and has just had some ridiculous quote to put right a fuel or oil intake pipe (I forget which) which Audi only started to negotiate a deal on when he threatened to pull out of buying his new S5.

It's a real shame because the first year of driving it were a joy (oil consumption aside) and really was enjoying my first petrol car in almost 10 years since my Z4 :/

Loving the new A5 though :D

You can spec the Advanced Key for £425 which is keyless (key in your bag/pocket).

Speakers are a bit tinny, not a big deal but thinking about popping soemthign aftermarket in. Is it a huge job/destructive in any way? Id ratehr there was no evidence when i swap them back out when i come to move on from this car
