Audi owners in here!

A rather large drop in mileage (year 1 saw 16k~, year 2 6k~, this year looks like it'll be similar to year 2). A rather large increase in salary, a little bit of boredom, and the fact that i'll be due a change (or paying it off) in the next 9 months anyway.

It's not a foregone conclusion, I might keep the A4 yet.

Fair do's. If my mileage changed that much I'd be looking at a TTS instead of the TDI. :D

The dawning realisation its actually a bit awful and that an S3 would be loads better ;)

Nah, it's a long way from awful, and I really like it. If I were either doing more miles, or on the flip side, was a more suiting engine to my current mileage, I'd keep it.

Having said that, I'm getting more and more problems with my left ankle these days, so moving to either a dual-clutch semi, or a full blown automatic would be a welcome change.

Not particularly fussed either way, if it's got the kit I want then I'd buy used, but they aren't exactly ten a penny at the moment, so it's likely that to get what I want I'd probably have to have a factory order.

Would have been perfect if it had advanced key. Even the colour I'd be going for, although I would prefer the "silver" leather interior.

Although that's only around £1k off the price of ordering it new, in the spec I want.

Whats so special about advanced key that its worth rejecting an otherwise excellent car for?

I refuse to go back to a car with a key that hangs from the steering column, and I certainly don't want the old 2005 key, just seems that Audi couldn't be bothered to update it!

Refuse as in point blank refuse to buy a car which needs a key in the ignition ?

Pre-facelift A6 3.0 TDI Avant Quattro tiptronic. Speak to me.
What do I need to look out for? High mileage FWIW.

What does facelift add, out of interest?
LEDs, MMI 2g/3g and more economical engines?

I sort of get his point. It's weird how you get used to things, when I got my car I found it difficult to view the keyless thing as anything more than an unnecessary gimmick. Yet now I constantly find myself half way up the drive after driving the Mini with the key still in the ignition and the radio still on or sitting in the drivers sit furiously hitting the 'Start' button only to realise I've left the key in my pocket :D

A3 Saloon

Picked up my A3 Saloon a few weeks ago. 1.4 TFSI COD. I had not even considered the 1.4 until i test drove one. It is pretty nippy for what it is and mine just managed 47 MPG on a run back from London to Cambridge loaded with 4 suitcases and the entire family!
Not quite AUDI stated economy but it is improving as the engine beds in. It makes me smile each time i drive it :)
I have enabled a few options using VCDS that are handy such as dipping passenger mirror in reverse and graphic display for reverse sensors, also the odd mod just for fun like needle sweep and oil temp display.
The one thing i really like is the 2 cylinder mode. With the display set to on board computer, i get a display of when it goes from 4 to 2 cylinders and i actually struggle to notice otherwise!, instant back to 4 on a push of the accelerator :)
