Audi owners in here!

Throttle map changes are typically crappy in my experience as they remove linearity to suggest more response, front loading the accelerators movement. Hated it on my M3's.

Dynamic also hardens up the steering but it's completely artificial. Every review I've read of Audis equipped with Drive Select say the steering is best left in comfort mode - it's lighter but there's more feel. Of course most people think firmer steering is more "sporty" for whatever reason.

What were you expecting - even a specialist isn't going to charge you 200 quid to fit a proper detachable concealed towbar to a modern car.

Just had a LOVL moment with the Audi dealership quote for a tow-bar fitted........

£978inc.

WTF!

Not really unexpected - even something like a Witter detachable is going to be £541.80 e.g. using Damien's A3 as an example

The Audi fitted one is going to be 100% designed for the car and to cause no issues with the Car's electronics, anything else is a generic kit that has been adapted and some compromise made.

Never had one fitted and it wasn't a surprise but happy to pay for something decent.

I'm not the sort to go the Halfords route.

Thanks for the link and the feedback - will investigate alternatives. I don't expect sub £200 tho obvs.

Mine's six months old and first problem I've had. Not Audi's fault really as they don't make the compressors, just buy them in but maybe there's a duff batch out there.

It's been a bit odd lately, working sometimes and not others so I suspected something subtle and intermittent like a sensor fault but they say the compressor is faulty.

Thanks :D

They may have a faulty clutch mechanism on the compressors which may not engage at certain times.

Hmm possibly. It's been working the last couple of days but I was in Wales on Thu/Fri and it wasn't working at all which was seriously annoying as it was rather muggy.

In with the new

Personally I think the new colour looks miles better (in the flesh at least)

Other upgrades include 360 cameras under mirrors and front, Bose sound, slightly different interior, 20" rimz, small power boost, new matrix LED lights, comfort sports seats with a billion ways to adjust them and Audi Connect thing (WiFi hotspot via Bluetooth/SIM card from mobile, Google maps integration etc)

Will probably take some more pics

2.0Tfsi black edition plus. Not sure what is standard but it has nav, B&O stereo, privacy glass and some other bits.

I think mine need a new compressor too :( It's booked in for next week Tuesday.

Car is only 9 months old and the list of stuff they need to sort out is extensive. Meh.

Yup, my aircon compressor has failed. Hopefully the part turns up soon.

I have this issue with my S1's brakes whereby they squeal between 5-15mph when you are NOT braking (a very simple concept that Audi cannot seem to grasp). I am getting very tired of being fobbed off with "try pressure washing them or braking hard from 70mph". I've done all of that crap and the problem persists. I've found quite a few reports on A1-forum.co.uk and audi-sport.net of other S1 owners saying the same thing. One guy got his brakes swapped out after complaining to Audi UK and the noise stopped.

The dealership tells me that "all performance Audis make this noise" even though they can't reproduce it on my car. If that's true, they almost seem proud of the fact and I will never buy another one.

I'm on the lookout for a new car with baby on the way.

I want something that will make my 60 mile daily commute a nicer experience, be economical (40+mpg), big boot and manual.

I've looked at loads of car but keep coming back to the A6 saloon (2006). For my budget of around £6k I can get a 2.0tdi (performance not an issue at all) with around 100k miles on the clock. Also considering an A4 estate too.

However I keep reading about this oil pump failure and it's got me a little worried. Are there ways to foresee the issue, would the above aged car be affected, or it is just a typical forum issue that's gotten out of hand?

This is one I like the look of:
