Moved to an A6 Avant S-Line after a silly woman wrote off my A4 S-Line :rolleyes:
Wasn't sure of the colour at first, but it's grown on me :p

Apart from the S3 which A3 model is actually the quickest. Looking to replace the A6 3.0 TDI but with something as quick off the mark, not too worried about top end.

Fastest A3 based car that's not an S3? That would be the RS3. 360ish horses packed into a 2.5 litre 5 cylinder engine. 0 to 60 in a very small amount of time.

Yes.

It's actually not about when the car was sold but when the model was type-approved. First they made fitment of DRLs mandatory but they could be turned off, then they changed it so they couldn't be turned off.

My previous shape A3s (8P) would turn off the DRLs if the switch was in the OFF position. Both my new shape ones (8V), they stay on even with the switch in OFF.

You can change this using VCDS but I don't see why you'd want to.

I think he was on about models below the S3 :p

Oddly, I think the generally quickest A3 other than the S/RS models would be the 184PS diesel. That's the current model at least. If you're on about the old-shape model (8P) then the 3.2V6 or 2.0TFSI.
 
A friend has the 2.0TFSI, its actually the newer TSI engine though. It's nippy off the mark and plenty of low down grunt due to the small turbo.

Was probably a fake deal.
An S8 on Stable Vehicles is £500 per month and £3.5k initial payment (all + VAT) for 5k miles. They are usually competitively priced compared to every other cheap lease site.
