Audi owners in here!

I bet that rs3 was like a rocket ship compared to those two cars ha..

I am back waiting for my new order now. I will keep speaking to dealers incase anything comes up but if it goes on while Christmas I am going to start paying more deposit towards the new one and wait for that.

Added a few more options to it as well based on the ones I have seen since.

Was tempted to go for a custom colour but it's adding months to some peoples build times so I think I'll survive ha

was that direct from Audi or a broker ? Can you post the link please

What a totally bizarre payment split

Suspect there should be a 1 in front of the monthly payment, which is roughly what is available everywhere I can see

The monthly price was genuine but the deal has been fully allocated now.
Similar deals are available with a lower deposit and a higher monthly.

Is there a way to find what oil i need? Light came on last night. Any real benefit to using the super expensive "Audi recommends" oil over anything else?

So my oil light is on again, not quite 5 months after last time.

Is there likely to be something wrong? Or is it cause i drive like an ***hole?

Or both?

Edit: A3 1.4tfsi, approx 1,500 miles (or less, probably) since last top up.

Even though Audi FSi/TFSi engines are prone to be greedy with oil I'm only using 1L every 2000-2500 miles in something much bigger than 1.4 so I'd say your oil usage rate is far too high. Wasn't there a recent recall (or similar) reference high oil consumption on the 2L engines?

Maybe worth chatting to your dealer about?

I've had mates with the exact same Audi and completely different oil consumption. Some cars use it and some don't. Most manufacturers will tell you it's normal which is annoying when you see the same car using none.

I think it can still depend on how the car is run in (e.g. whether driven gently or "thrashed" - not that there is proof that either way is really better). Obviously between different years there can be replacement/upgraded parts and software that make a difference. (E.g. On my A3 oil consumption went down by a noticeable amount after I had a replacement PCV Breather fitted)

I think that's a myth actually as I had 2 M3's that used different oil amounts and I ran them in the same. First one never used, second maybe 2L every 10k

Over 7000 miles completed in mine and never had to top it up once. Is yours the COD engine?

My 2014 1.6 TDI A3 is in the dealers tomorrow due to me needing to double clutch it every now and then to get it into reverse. Wonder what I get to replace it with for a few days.

I'll flip if it's an automatic as I already regret not getting one without having to drive around in one for two days.

Well, got a 2015 1.6 TDI A3 but in S-Line trim as opposed to my Sport, it feels so much nicer to drive. The gearbox is smoother, the engine feels much more responsive. Not sure if it's just placebo but it definitely feels like a faster car.

Can't be a 'faster car'...its got the exact same engine. :o

Never heard anyone describe the 1.6 as responsive. You sure its not the 2.0 litre lol.

It feels faster and more responsive in comparison to my 1.6TDI. I know they are basically exactly the same car, excluding the bigger alloys and the S-Line being slightly lower. But it definatley feels much more responsive when you put your foot on the throttle.

Is yours the 1.6tdi ultra?

Hmm what letters were on the number plate on the courtesy car? OE?

Was NV15 ##J is all I remember (#=don't remember), definitely had one exhaust too unless it was built wrong it was a 1.6TDI, said 110PS 1.6 TDI on the system too.

Well, got my car back and they said they had a drive and a look around and couldn't replicate the problem. It doesn't surprise me but at least it's down on their system now just in case anything else happens down the line and they ask me why I didn't act sooner.

They said until I can replicate the issue to show them there isn't much they can do.
