Audi owners in here!

Never experienced anything like that on my A4 B8, I can't see a button needing coding though, there's no "control" in a button. The central convenience module shouldn't need making aware of a button change either. Is the replacement button from a facelift or pre-facelift?

Not sure, but it matches the old one and the button lights up red for the unlock / lock icons but the red line that tells you if it is actually locked doesn't appear to light up...

Checked out the new facelift A3 saloon in the dealership yesterday. Very nice, front end is quite noticeably different and in line with the new A4.

I think it's £450. I took out a car with virtual cockpit, and to be honest the novelty wore off during the 2 hours I had the car. I can fully appreciate it in say the TT, where there is no center display, and it would have been a far better idea than the awful "iPad on the dash" approach of the new A4, but I just couldn't see myself using it.

It might help resale, but looking at the types of cars being specced on Audi-Sport.net, most people buying them seem to want a pretty basic specced manual, with privicy glass.

I ummed and aared about it for the best part of a month (with the A3 initially), but decided against it in the end.

I couldn't imagine me buying a new Audi without it personally. At £450 it'll be a bargain when it comes time to shifting it on. Everyone will want it...

Spent a very fruitful day at my local Audi dealer yesterday. Test drove a 16 plate A6 Black Edition saloon (I want an Avant but they only had a saloon to hand). Sales exec was very knowledgeable and helpful and is going to try to find a used car that fits my needs and budget.

Can't wait to join the club!

Unfortunately you will have to purchase the tech pack at around £1,400...

I've got an Audi S4 MY10 (B8 platform) that has unfortunately developed a fault. The drivers door will no longer unlock using the remote fob. Inserting the key in to the door works fine and will lock / unlock all doors but on the fob it will only lock all doors / unlock the 3 passenger doors.

Has anyone else's suffered this, or know of someone who has? I've heard it might be the main door controller or perhaps the sensors on the lock causing it to think that door is always unlocked..

I've also had to replace the central locking button as my partner broke it (its on the door) and now it won't tell me if the car is locked or not (no red light); do these have to be coded if you change them?

I've got someone with vag software coming on Wednesday to fault find but curious to know if anyone else has had this issue.

Quite common I believe, I've had to replace my passenger door lock mechanism a year ago. Apparently the solder dries out. With mine it would occasionally unlock but would always lock when I had manually opened the door.

I know that the A6 lock mechanisms fit my S3 so the chances are they are the same on the A4 too.

Still gonna be a bargain though. Will completely refresh the interior of the motor for the whole time you own it, plus be a massive plus point for potential buyers when you sell it.

I was an extra £500-600 for the MFD on my 5 series, and it was easily the best option box I ticked.

The problem with the F10 MFD though is that it's a missed opportunity - it looks epic but doesn't actually add any meaningful functionality. The Audi system is better in this regard - it adds functionality whereas the F10 MFD simply moves existing functionality around and makes it prettier.

Yes, which is why, to me at least, the Audi system is a no brainer.

The phone number lookup and media selection, from the steering wheel controls, are far better with the MFD though. I had a rental without it, and realised the difference immediately. The whole inside of the rev counter turns to the list, making it so that the list is much bigger, and thus easier to navigate.
