Audi owners in here!

Am looking at a very similarly specced S3 at the moment. Surprised full Matrix LED Headlights aren't available on the TT, unless I've missed them.

I just didnt pick them mate, happy with the LED's they come with :)

I considered an S3 but just decided to go with the TT because ive always had a soft spot for them!

@Vertigo1

Yes it is, and no, not a single regret regarding colour. It's less "in your face" than Ara, and looks superb in most lighting.

Best colour I've had on a car yet, and most of my family and friends agree.

Cool, I think I'm a tad concerned it might attract the wrong kind of attention.

No I meant I couldn't even see the option. Fair enough if you didn't want them, I'm just surprised they don't even seem to be offered.

They were offered. The option was right there below the LED lights that came as standard.

Personally I'd have the Matrix LED's and memory seats if it were me. But then there is a large difference between my wifes and my own seating positions.

I doubt it, I get some comments from people I know, and the occasional glance, stare or thumbs up from strangers (such as in the petrol station) but it's not anywhere near as attention grabbing as Ara blue or the old Sepang blue, it's a fair bit darker and toned down compared with those two.

Don't bother with red calipers either ;)

If you've driven one in anger, it's anything but a hairdresser's car. I drove one at an Audi Experience Day and I was really surprised at how supple the back-end was! It wasn't afraid to get a bit loose :)

I'm envious :p

I've driven a TT-RS and it was excellent. As for the TTS, I'm with paradigm in that it's not practical enough for me plus it's about £4k more than the equivalently specced S3.

Nah I really don't like them on the S3. Currently looking at a Navarra Saloon S-Tronic with Tech & Comfort packs, Matrix lights and a few other minor bits - probably very similar to yours. I also like that you can have leather/alcantara at no cost as I detest full leather.

Out of interest, what's your real-world economy like?

I was gonna say about the calipers. I'd bin them immediately, and put the money towards something useful, like the matrix LED's.

They're too garish for the S3 saloon as the rest of the car looks relatively understated. They might work a bit better on the hatch but I think bright red calipers are generally the preserve of Civic Type-Rs, Focus RSs and the like.

I too think the red calipers are a waste of money... its not like they are 6 pots that deserve some attention.

What I regret slightly is not picking a wilder colour... I love the look of Daytona grey, but everyone and their dog also appears to have picked it too :(

I love the seats in the TT, I wish they had been an option on the S3. Even the supersports seats I have aren't that supportive.

Not Paradigm (obviously :p) but I have a facelift 8V S3 (310PS / 7-speed S-Tronic).

My economy so far is mid to high 30's on a mixed run with higher possible when cruising.

It is noticeably more economical than my old MK7 Golf R (300PS / 6-speed DSG) which is interesting as I was expecting no difference (based on both actual mileage done vs fuel added and trip readout).

I have only owned it for around two weeks but already love it. It does everything my R did but the interior is a noticeable step up. There are lots of little touches which add up to an overall more pleasing place to sit. It does help that I have the super sports seats (with cross stitching in red) and the extended interior pack to set things off.

:)

Nice to hear :) I'm personally really looking forward to all the tech in the car.

If I "try" on my mainly B and A road commute (no motorway), I get high-30s to low 40s. A motorway jaunt (such as down to Devon, or when I went to Bedford Autodrome) saw mid-40s.

My "lifetime" average since owning the car has been 29.3MPG.

Obviously if you press on, you'll see anything from low teens upwards!

I'm on my second 8V in Daytona and it does appear to have become the default S-Line colour. Basically, if you get an S-Line, you get it in Daytona. They're everywhere. It's a lovely colour but has become far too common.

Sounds promising. My lifetime average in my current 1.4COD is 35 but that's 90% urban driving. I'm anticipating that dropping to around 25.

Yeah the extended interior makes a surprising amount of difference. At least they now call it something sensible rather than the old 'mono pur' description which no-one understood.

Cheers, sounds more promising that I'd feared, especially on motorway jaunts. My 1.4 only manages high 40s on an 80mph-ish motorway jaunt.

Hello folks. New to Audi, have only had BMWs/Mercs in the past.

I have just placed an order for a S5 Sportback, due in Dec.. super excited !

I have a bit of time to decide on the optional extras. It comes with the Audi sound system as standard, the b&O is an additional £750. Has anyone tried both? Is it worth the extra? Note that this is a lease car which I will only keep for 2 - 3 years and will have to cough up the full amount upfront.

I have the Harman Kardon system on my current BMW 4 GC so used to decent quality audio.

Cheers

It will be significantly better than stock. But only you can decide if it's worth £750 to you for 2-3 years of use, as with a lease, any addition to residual values are basically non existent.

I just ordered a TTS......

Hairdressers car I know, but I will feel very pretty :p:D
Nice spec. I've had mine since November and it's ace.

You've gone for the speed sign recognition thing but just to note, that shows in the corner of the satnav screen anyway and you can also use the voice recognition to ask 'what is the seed limit here' and it'll tell you. Might be worth saving the extra on. Up to you.

Yeah I can't say I really see the point of the recognition. In theory it's more accurate as the standard system uses nav data which is sometimes out of date whilst the recognition obviously reads signs but it's so infrequently wrong that I don't see the point in shelling out for the recognition.

You really shouldn't need any system for this anyway - if you don't know the speed limit then you shouldn't be on the road :p

Ah wish I had known that. I tried to add folding mirrors 4 days after I placed the order and manufacturing had rejected the change because they had already locked the spec.... bit annoying.

I used Carwow and Coast2Coast to get prices and went to my local Audi dealer who was happy to match fortunately.

After months of procrastination I have finally put a deposit on a new (to me) car to replace the A6.

2016 A4 2.0L TDI 190PS S-Line Avant S-Tronic
Scuba Blue

Optional extras include :

Comfort and sound pack
-4 way lumbar
-B&O sound system
-Electric seats
-Advanced key / keyless entry

Light and vision pack
-Extended interior lighting
-Matrix LED lights

Technology pack
-Phone box/wireless charge
-Mmi high / navigation plus

Driver assistance pack
-Adaptive cruise
-Lane assist
-Traffic sign recognition

19" alloys
Heated front seats
Nappa leather
Virtual cockpit

Plus a few other bits like the bigger fuel tank, boot storage system etc

It's the highest spec of A4 I've seen so far. Can't wait to try out the matrix led headlights, adaptive cruise and lane assist.

Thought I'd give a quick update on the A4 I bought in December.

I've now done 14k miles in it with an average of 49MPG.
It's had 1 service and has had two things sorted under warranty; a rattling speaker and the keyless entry button not always working.

By far the feature I have loved the most is the lane assist and adaptive cruise. It does a fantastic job of picking up speed limit signs and adjusting the cars speed based on speed limits, traffic, corners etc. It's also really useful in stop/start traffic if a little jerky.

The Matrix headlights are alright, but I find myself needing to override them quite often so they aren't as good as I expected. They are however brilliant for visibility when following other cars and still being able to light up either side of the car.

Overall I'm really please with the car. If you have any questions let me know.
