Audi owners in here!

Looking at A4 B7's, has anyone got anything bad to say about the Tip Auto 6 speeds?

I'am Undecided whether to go for a 2.0t or the 3.2, I have driven a TT before with the 3.2 lump and its a very addictive/pleasurable noise.

Only get a 4x4 quattro one. All the rest have belt driven gearboxes. The belts snap a lot.

So, First world problems!
Just received an email from the dealership and my build week is 38!
That puts delivery at the end of September!

No idea why it is going to take that long and I don't think the dealership knows, they estimated it before at 3-4 months which is normal for an R8 apparently.

They had multiple allocations available for manual R8s and it was the S-Tronic that you couldn't get hold of.
I guess the global demand is high on the S-Tronics with everyone upgrading to that from the R-Tronic and that is causing the longer wait.

Not surprised. S-tronic is such a great box i would never buy an Audi without it again.

On a semi related note, I pick up my TT tomorrow :D

So excited!

Well I did :p

Apparently the build week can change, so may be they can slot my manual one in a bit sooner but I am not going to get my hopes up.

How long did you wait for yours?

I orderee mine end of Feb, but it was already on the system and I modified it to the spec I wanted, so it was a shorter wait than ordering a completely new build.

Mine was actually built earlier than expected, however its been sitting at the UK port for two weeks because they had been waiting for a delivery space due to being very busy.

I was originally told end of march, then when it was built early I was told early to mid march, but its's ended up basically mid/late.

JP can I ask why you ordered new? Surely there was a suitable second hand low mileage one? Hell you could even have it wrapped to the colour you wanted, which would be free given the depreciation would have already hit it?

I would love a new car but a 8 month waiting list would really get to me!

Sounds like you would have got it early if it wasn't for the 14 plate cars being out. Always crazy busy when new plates are out.

Well I didn't know it would be 8 months, I was told 3-4 so a bit cheesed off about that but hope it is just a bit of an estimate right now and well get better.

I originally was looking to get a used 13 plate as I wanted the facelift with all the little updates but finding one in manual at the time there was only 3 or 4 on the Audi network and none of them were well optioned.
And when spending up to 100 grand used I didn't want to settle and not be 100% happy with it.

They also have "given" me a good discount on the new one and if I go with a finance package they are also offering some more off as a contribution.
Obviously they would make that back on the repayments but it does look nice and I am tempted, plenty of time to make up my mind though.

Right now I have just agreed the on the road price and paid a deposit.

Someone has to buy new!

Been offered the chance to take over the last 6 months of a lease on an s5 (the 3.0 charged one).

Would be £210 a month for he car, but as its gone over it's mileage limit I'd also have to stump up all the excess mileage too at 9p a mile I think it is.

Not sure if I can be bothered with the hassle and cost to just get 6 months use out of it, although is a cheap way of having one for a while.

Driven it a fair bit anyway and it is nice, not specced up with anything though so no nav amongst other things but still enough stuff for me.

It looks nice but the new one isn't far away - that model is nearly 8 years old now.

I know the mk 3 is coming, and so did the dealer, which is why i got 6k off the list price :p

I didn't want to wait for a mk3 which would have cost more, doesn't come in black edition at first, and also is likely to have some new model issues crop up in the first year or two. I'll have the option to swap it in for a mk3 down the line anyway if I want to.

A sunday drive is needed I think!
