I see some of the huge valve amps with tubes the size of light bulbs sticking out all over the place and just cringe at the thought of how much it would cost to replace them.
Dammit, I need to get rid of this T1, I'm spending too much time on ebay looking for bargain tubes
Got a pair of Mullard 6DJ8's in the mail this morning - same kind of sound stage as the EH6922 but vocals are smoother and more forward - been listening to Beth Hart & Joe Bonamassa ever since getting them.
Only the EH6922, 2x 6N23P and 2x Mullard 6DJ8 so far but I am saving my pennies for a pair of HD 650 and a Schiit Vali to be fed by the T1. Because of that I've been showing restraint in pulling the trigger but the 6DJ8's were so cheap it would have been rude not to.
I use MusicBee instead of Foobar - supports most things without need for addons
In Windows 8.1 (may be the same for 7 & 8)
1) Right click on the speaker icon in your toolbar and select playback devices
2) Highlight the Aune T1, which may show as SPDIF passthrough and make it default.
3) Select Properties
4) Select Advanced
5) Select your chosen bit depth and sample frequency (24/96)
6) Hit apply and you're done.
Only have 16 or 32bit option in sample frequency. Just set it to 32bit and works fine. Still on unmodded Q701 and stock tube so far. More air for sure with the Q701's compared to the X1. Thanks though.
