Australian GP 2009 - Race 1/17 (NOT in HD BTW)

Im really glad to see BrawnGP doing very well (even without the diffuser they would be near /on pole)

Thoroughly deserved - and that some on this thread whos percieved "wisdom" is shown to be total **** after stating first that the car was bound to be terrible, and then after initial testing that it was illegal /under weight etc

Lets hope this continues for the season - some of the other cars look like real dogs, and the added Virgin sponsorship should allow for developement work mid - season that might have been difficult givent the circumstances of the team over the winter

Personally I think the Brawn GP colour scheme is awesome :D Shame the Virgin thing is going to ruin it. They should have done it all "JPS" style but instead of black and gold... white and toxic green :D

I'm supporting them for three reasons. I've always supported Button, and he's driving for them. It's a British team, and finally because they have fought hard to keep the team alive so deserve some pay back.

I might have to make a Brawn GP sig as well :p

To be fair id make a sig for Williams, Red Bull and Brawn GP if I could have a rotating sig. The qualifying turnout had most of my favourite drivers in the top 5.
 You is me!

Well I went to bed at quarter to one this morning and managed to wake up at 4.55am. :D Enjoyed seeing F1 back on the BBC and amazed at how Brawn/Williams/Red Bull did in the qually today. I hope all three teams can carry this form into the race and make it a nice open GP and perhaps even carry the form into the rest of the season.

Thought you were a Kimi fan Marc :p I managed to get up at bang on 4.58am. Just got remember to put my clocks forward tonight for morning.

Btw, my Brawn GP sig is only temporary. I felt left out :D

I understand why many people got fed up with James Allen's excitement over Lewis (and over Button when he was doing well as I seem to remember), but what do you expect? A British commentator is going to get a more excited when a British driver does well? You just have to listen to another national commentary team (Italian, Brazilian etc) too see how excited they get when one of their drivers/football teams win. As annoying as it might be, surely no one should be suprised at this. I can see Legard doing the same thing.

That doesn't mean they have to act like a 8 year old who's just got a Nintendo Wii for christmas every time a British driver does something, you don't have to act like a screaming pleb to be patriotic and proud.

Brundle doesn't, but you know he's just as proud, but he's being a professional and doing his job instead of annoying us with inane shouting.

a lot of people might just support them as they are the 'underdogs'.

And of course they were not underdogs last year or the year before or etc etc. The difference this time is they might win a couple of races and people have to attach themselves to it.

Poor messiah, there's hardly any mention of him on this thread now.

Personally I'd like to see williams back on the top step consistently. It might make the difference between them surviving for a few more years.

I mainly support the British driver with the most chance of wining. Last year it was ahmilton, obviously i was happy whenever button did well/ok last year, but it was more entertaining concentraiting on hamilton. Tommorows race would be boring if you only concentrate on hami (speculating) but button should do well and therfore worth watching. Look at the 94 australi race the commentators go mad with damon and nigel, both doing well and both british. I don't understand why our country has some desire to not like british drivers. Places like italy and spain won't stop making noise if their bloke does well.

I prefer the good old days when british drivers were given priority, "go johnny go" etc etc

Yeap me too. Liked them when JPM was racing for them, and was gutted when he left to to go McLaren. Still always had a soft spot for Williams knowing they are out of the running at the moment.
