Australian Grand Prix 2011, Albert Park Circuit - Race 1/19

I'm sure the mechanics are up to it, but with all the regulations on what you can and can't do to the car I wasn't sure whether they were allowed to.
Lets hope that EU-like worktime restriction doesnt hinder them. Hate regulations that have x amount of waivers...

ps3ud0

Surprised no one's mentioned Ron Dennis interrupting Jake to serve up EJ with humble pie! :p:D

First time I've seen Ron with a sense of humour.

Red Bull are still bloody quick :(

Sebs car looked very very very planted on his qually laps, I take my hat off to McLaren for coming back so strong though, very impressive :)

Vettel did not use KERS in his lap, so I think you can work out who the halfwit is. Great way to conduct yourself as a new member.
how do you spell half wit? are you the forum prefect or summat?

actually hammis broken kers is slower than an unused kers, but whatever Vettel was very quick. I would say McL will improve the car a lot over the season though. Hammi looked like he's got his tail up.

Congratulations to mclaren and a stunning lap from hamilton, well done.

That is a hell of a turn around from testing and hopefully with all the laps from this weekend on those new bits mclaren have gained a lot of data and knowledge for the next race.

When you consider how far behind mclaren are-

-old car in the first test
-very low mileage from previous tests
-whole sections of the car thrown in the bin

then it could be a few races before we see the 26 get all the way up to speed.

All cars meet the same minimum weight standard, and the CofG is mandated so a dead KERS isn't really excess weight.

yeah but if you listened to the commentary, they said it was a disadvantage because it changes the brake balance at the rear.

One of the team members did mention the weight as well:confused:

+1 Well done to Mclaren! And especially Lewis without KERS, awesome show! Lets hope they have some reliability tomorrow!

was that HD, looked crap

Time to get a better screen, on my Panny looked superb :)

You probably don't pick up the detail of real HD properly so don't have a proper benchmark (oh sorry is it plasma, because that will be why)

WTCC and Le Mans on Eurosport HD looks fantastic, FIA GT on ESPN not so good.

Looked great on my Tellybox tbh.

Anyone notice just how much flex the front wing on sebastiens car had.....it seemed to be up and down quite a bit more than similar shots of Webbers showed.

Stunning lap by vettel though.

Perhaps then you made a bad choice picking a screen thats not so flexible with 1080i and SD :D Either way it all looks good on the Panny (using Pioneer Kuro technology) ;)

Back to F1 though:

Drivers who impressed me today:

1. Vettel - thrashed Webber so so sooo bad it was funny
2. Lewis - we all know he is better than JB by some margin but without KERS putting it on the front row, well done that man!
3. Petrov - expected to be utter rubbish and actually delivered - Nick H let the side down
4. Rosberg - Once again dragging that car beyond its ultimate pace
5. Kobayashi - a superb drive through Q3
6. Paul di Resta - Awesome guy (met him last year) and certainly did well in Qualy today! Good luck for the race!

no where near as good as Eurosport though:confused:

WTCC, F2 and superbikes look fantastic in the sunshine.

may be it was the light.

Perhaps I should have said relative to WTCC and Le Mans on Eurosport last year.

No I didn't check SD, why would I? When I can get HD.

HD tv varies a lot, even on the same channel.

I should add I'm also very accustomed to Blue Rays now so may be I'm expecting too much.
