Why would he Merc is clearly much faster with ham just managing in the first part of the race.

I feel this is going to be another season where races are decided on non-race related events.
Barely any overtaking occurred. Bit of an eventful but largely rubbish race, IMO. I want to see people race.
My gripes:
— Too much aero
— Halo is annoying
— VSC should be there to keep the race neutral. Otherwise what’s the point, just get the safety car out.
— Rebrand is tacky, damn yanks.
— Onscreen graphics and timings were not updated properly at times, really sloppy.

I'd agree with all of that. F1 is quickly becoming a harder watch. Thats saying something after watching/listening to it for 30 years plus

It is indeed, not enough excitement and it’s just getting complex/expensive.

Wrong kind of aero possibly. They need to revisit ground effect, get away from the dependence on bodywork/wing downforce.

Perhaps. But honestly, if it was easier (read: possible) to follow closely around here then Hamilton would have gotten back past anyway.

Yep and they'd then just talk about the tactical masterclass from Hamilton instead...
I actually agree that you should not gain from the VSC but in the past it's helped others and gone against Ferrari, but they moan about it now.
