Austrian Grand Prix 2016, Spielberg - Race 9/21

I don't even like Hamilton that much (Fantastic driver though). Even the most ardent Hamilton hater should (being the operative word as some clearly are still managing) struggle to pin the blame on him. Hamilton did nothing wrong that incident was definitely Rosberg's fault.

From this angle it clearly shows it was Hamilton's fault:

Quite a few things irked me about this race:

Hamilton's race engineer said something along the lines of "That was not the result we were looking for" which is implying it was Hamilton's fault, or that Mercedes wanted Rosberg to win.

Toto said the the crash was "brainless" implying both were at hand, including Hamilton.

Hamilton should seek to clarify these comments. Clearly the accident was caused by Rosberg, as backed up by the stewards.

Why do we need team-orders, when the root of the issue is that Rosberg needs to be told to stop trying to cheat and ram his teammate off the track?

Obviously most of the discussion will be around the front. But anyone commented on how bad Ferrari are this year with strategy? On multiple occasions this year Ferrari have made bad calls. And not even in hindsight. Bar calls at the time.
It's almost as if they are taking advice from Williams! Why on earth did they not try to get the undercut with kimi and bring him in earlier? That stunned me

Why did they imply Lewis was partly to blame then?

when was that.

they aren't ever going to come straight out and say ros cheated.

but both NL and toto said things against Ros, whilst playing the incident down for both stewards and company image.
NL came out and blamed Ros, whilst Toto was more image conscious and when shown the replay of the non steering into the corner, simply replied with a sheepish "yep" when directly asked.

at the time, there was in this thread.

Ferrari for so much hype have been comparatively dreadful this year.

He's just an entitled, over-paid man-child who thinks he can do no wrong. I bet you that video will be talked about in a Mercedes meeting somewhere as another example of Rosbergs lack of self-control.
I really hope so, but when is another incident going to be one too far? At the moment it feels like there is no limit.

Toto has said they were both to blame since watching that video though.

I guess it's lost in the Lewis nico thing as this is a British forum generally.

They have been, and seem to keep making the wrong call. Its completely forgivable when the call isn't clear or there's nothing to lose. But this one struck me badly as poor choice. Why pit one lap later when your tyres are getting slower, it's hard to overtake, and the tyre you are going on to its durable.
It could have even been forgiven (maybe) if they were trying to go very long and then put Usoft on. But that was never going to work. Just seemed completely daft

I expect them to support the driver who was not at fault, and admonish the driver who was at fault.

They did this at the Belgian Grand Prix in 2014.
Which they have not done, even with clear evidence and the condemnation of everyone else, and the stewards decision, why?

German team, German driver. They are desperate for Rosberg to win the WDC. I guess they need to keep the German sponsors and fans happy too, not the way to do it though by alienating everyone else.
