If anything needs changing, a MoH status by vote every year by the members from a shortlist selected by other MoH or dons /UB's......

As for avatars, the elvis one on the first page is a prime example of why custom avatars are a bad idea (Or maybe I just really dislike elvis *shrug*.

I totally agree. I'm guessing criteria exists for the appointment of dons and underbosses so leave that with the the people who choose them.

I too would like to see one or two more avatars, but keep them all in the same style and colour. I like the fact here we have gangsters and the photos are all black and white. There's a weird/cool sense of uniformity about that.

However being awarded the status of Man of Honour seems to assume everybody agrees the reasons of appointment e.g. helpful posts/"an intelligent poster." There's one MoH who in my opinion doesn't really listen to what other people say and often dismisses their opinions as inferior to his own. I certainly don't think he deserves the status and even if I'm the only person to think this, I would like to be given the chance to vote against him.

Moh titles are based on contributions to the forums and helpful posting, and has nothing to do with sucking up to the mod team. Those members who help out the mod team generaly become UB and i'm sure there's a fair few Moh who would agree that they certainly don't suck up to the mods. The Moh is done annually as an award for contribution and those members who the mod team help make OcUK a great forum to be a member of

Something like half of all MoH have since been banned or demoted. Doesn't sound like sucking up to me.

In fact, I'm more than likely known as a **** disturber among them!! :D


[EDIT] Actually, I think being nominated MoH has been an incentive for me to occasionally clean my act up before hitting the magic "POST" button, as I'd like to maintain my MoH status and not **** in everyone's Wheaties and lose it!! :D

actually that proves my point... people sucking up to get a rank that makes them "stand out", and when they get it there is no longer any need to suck up and as such they eventually reveal their true colours. a democratic vote would make this less likely to happen.

yes there has been once or twice where I have seriously question myself why someone would give certain users MoH status, when they do not act with honor on a daily basis, dare I say at all? I agree with greenlizard0 on that one
 
Hopefully I will never fall into that category. And if any of you (seriously) ever catch me doing that, please speak up. I would hope people know me well enough to understand I (hopefully) won't jump down your throats for pointing out I'm making an arse of myself.

No, I just know my ADHD self well enough to know I can quite easily make an arse of myself and not even know it. :p

Anyone who's been around long enough to remember a post I made about a certain Jeep and a supermarket parking lot will know that for sure..... :(
