Avatars

I like the avatars we have tbh. I do think women need to have women though :p . Just a question about current avatars: What does it mean by "by appointment"? I have the highest avatar with regards to post count but I would like the underboss avatar :(

By appointment means that the authorities offer it to you (or give it to you without consulting you)....
 
I like the avatars and signature rules, makes it much easier to read and less "noisey" i wouldnt see a problem with a few more groups like >5000, >10,000 etc.. etc.. :)

Good question, its all closed doors I'm afraid although I think that Freefaller has mentioned something along the lines of...

"if you have to ask you wont get"

Would you make a good underboss? Is the avatar worth the extra work and responsibility?

Oooohh...

It is not mere disagreeability that a MoS should be awarded on, the only people in SC that are oxygen thieves are those who make constant straw-man arguments, non-sequiturs, sophistic argument or insist on insulting others. Other than that, I love everyone.

To the OP. I think the avatars we have got at the moment are a must keep tbh but I would like to see an extra avatar for 5000+ posts aswell.
Custom avatars will make the board look cluttered.

Underbosses seem to be the people who go that extra mile to help out on the boards, report any issues, RTM the right posts etc.

Men of Honour are pretty cool - decided each year i think for people who have shined during the year for different things, good advice, good posts, etc..

But yea if you ask you dont get... then again Yewen had people posting "Vote Yewen for UB" iirc - well maybe he didnt ask but a few people did, he deserves it for the contribution and advice he gives in the "Cases" subforum mind
 
Makes me wonder how many are bothered about their avatar and post-count...

I have 15k posts now, but it doens't mean crap other than the fact that my last job I could post from work. The amount of excellent posters there are under 5k, 4k, 3k, 2k, 1k etc... there are even a lot with only a few hundred yet who post excellence every time they post...

As far as the avatar is concerned, I like my MoH one, but only because it looks nicer than the others.

Well I think I have a bit more work to do to earn a special avatar. I've been spending a lot more time on the GD this month than the hardware forums were I used to help a lot more.
