I liked it when Avatars were not compulsary i spent 20 minutes looking for where the "no custom avatar" selection button was before i realised it was gone.
We also for a short while had custom avatars, and the forum didnt go into melt down, but they were dropped because................... well no reason.

Can't say I recongise them but I've probably seen them in films without noticing.

I like the way the forums are at the moment. Other forums that don't have any rules or swear filters are like a really cheap and tacky bar. Any old tramp from the street can come walking in and making the place look untidy. You really don't want to spend too much time in this seedy bar.

OcUK forums is like an upmarket 5* hotel bar, with a dress code, strict but still relatively casual. No lager lout tramps in here. You can happily spend the night in here.

If you want to maintain the feel of the forums, I say we keep it the way it is. Maybe add some new avs for the woman. "Wise Girl" etc.

The only option I want is to bring back the "Show Avatars" tick box in the options menu. I have no idea why it was removed, as removing it serves no purpose. As much as I like Tony Soprano, seeing his picture spammed 30 times per thread gets annoying, if the "Show Avatars" tick box was brought back, the forum could look much nicer -- to those who chose to disable them, and it is not like the poster's title disappears, as you still have the "Wise Guy" title under the poster's name.

What I don't get is why people think that adding one or two (possibly too much?) avatars is going to 'ruin' the feeling of the forum?

Tbh it really is only a picture under your name, but then again variety is the spice of life!

I know OcUK is a very happy home for most of us, but that doesn't mean it perfect.....
