Avengers: Infinity War (2018) - *** WARNING: SPOILERS ***

Saving him for part 2 no doubt, if he gets in full hulk mode (i.e planet destroyer strength) he should be able to go toe to toe with Thanos unlike the beat down he got at the start of part 1.

Just seen this last night, have mixed views on it to be honest. For the first 2 hours I was totally engrossed in the movie. Thought it was brilliant. Great Action, Great humour and a proper bad guy. But, for the last half hour I was like "MEH"

Could be it's the first Marvel film where the 'bad guy' wins and some people won't have been happy with that even though we all knew this was a 2 parter.

Would barely have called that a beat down, a few punches and a slam and Hulk vanishes for the rest of the movie? Would have expected something a bit more substantial to make Hulk's nads fall off.

It's the first time the Hulk's ever got a beating like that (in the films), Thanos looked like a pro boxer going against a brawler.

Regardless it doesn't really play into the whole thing where if Hulks taking a kicking he's meant to get angrier and stronger. Thats how it's been in other movies and afaik the comics, doesn't seem to have been applied here.

Probably the issues stem from his time on Sakaar in Thor Ragnarok.

Does that not apply when Banner and Hulk coexist rather than fight each other for control?

No idea, afaik its always been a "thing" with the Hulk. If he's stuck at a specific strength level because they're co-existing they're essentially just dumbing the character down to fit specific scenes.

You realise despite how strong he would get from being angry/hulk mode, thanos would beat the crap out of him, he had the power stone, hulk had no chance.

Yes but i would have expected a bit more than a few punches and a slam to make Hulks nuts drop off and go into hiding. Just seemed far too brief of an encounter for it to have had that effect. A scene were he got tossed around, got enraged more then proceeded to take a whipping would have been more effective rather than a few slaps and a slam.
