Baby killers, what's the fastest you've done in your car?

Even at 4am i'm still afraid to do "silly speeds". I always think that it'd be sod's law that there would be a traffic cop pointing a speed gun at me, and i think i'd cry if i got my car taken away from me and my insurance went up to 1 million pounds a year.

150mph in Germany (ST220)
210mph in UK - Brunters (Passenger RUF RT12)

What do I win? ;)

I can't comment about the UK on public roads obviously I think perhaps a smidge under 70mph, but I believe that is a poor attempt.

I did 160mph at Brunters on the limiter 4 times. I did 156mph in 3/4 mile at Watersham in the GT3 from a standing start and I did see the GT3 show close to 200mph once, somewhere not in this country.

I don't think id get more than 125ish in mine and wouldn't want to go much faster in a 106 to be fair!

I have had a passenger ride to 172mph in an R35 GTR though which was surreal...

150 indicated in 944 S2 on the way back from the ring. Also had the roof off! If I said it was amazingly stable I'd be lying. The amount of concentration needed to drive at that speed for more than a moment is a huge amount more than at UK motorway speeds.

~140 indicated. I genuinely haven't done more than 80mph indicated (70mph actual) on the motorway since my accident. Prior to that I deluded myself that doing stupid speeds in the outside lane was 'perfectly safe' and that if someone pulled out on me, I could deal with it. I was very wrong.

160mph indicated in an E-Type race car in 1970'ish with no roof was EPIC, still remember my dads words, "don't tell your mum" :D

155mph (the limiter kicked in) in Germany (Audi A8 4.2 TDI - company car) This is quite regular.
200+mph in Germany (TechArt 911 - belongs to a mate)
170mph in UK - M1, Christmas Eve (Lambo LP560 - rental)

105MPH according to GPS at Brand Hatch, and oddly it felt a million times more stable at that speed than my old XS did at 70!

It is a shame I never got a chance to take the GTI to a track with a long straight, rumour has it that the gearing and tyre sizing is good for 134MPH

back in my mispent youth... all indicated so nowhere near real mph

198 hayabusa
168 yam r6
172 yam r1
170 tl1000r
132 kr1s
178 zx12

err thats all I can remember.... not had current bike flat out and prolly never will, it's abit dumb really. She hit rev limiter at 174mph on dyno though :)

signed

honest fluke

I'm far more impressed by this than any car related top speeds. A slight bump in the road is scary enough on a bike at 70 never mind at 170!
