Baby killers, what's the fastest you've done in your car?

Yeah, but I still over-estimate situations on 2 wheels:

It was like this, I just picked up my driver's licence, I came home, I wanted to take a drive, dad said no you can't drive alone for a couple of months, ''only when I am with you'' ( I bought the Volvo in a month or so anyhow, being the stubborn guy I am)... I got annoyed that day and realized I could also ride mopeds now ( free ''AM'' license if you do a ''B'' license here), I took my mums moped for a ride, all well after 3 miles or so and I got overconfident on a cycle path I knew well, there was a right corner behind a downhill bit from a bridge I always went as fast through as I could on my bike, on my moped I released the throttle but while entering the corner I noticed I still entered far too fast now, since it was a higher speed than on my bike, the problem was worse because it was wet and the rear brake wasn't perfect ( should have tightened the cable before the ride), braked too hard with the front brake, front wheel locked up and I went wide, scuffed/hit a wooden pole/post with first my alloy then the body, fell to the right, and ended up on my side in the grass only a couple of meters from a canal.

Result: Steering went wrong ( wheel was turning left when steering was ''straight'''), alloy damaged ( tyre lost all air in 15 mins) and minor cosmetic damage on the body. Now I'm taking it extra easy in corners and still don't feel safe over 30 mph on it. Luckily mopeds cost peanuts to fix.

Driven - 147mph indicated, GPS said 144mph - Twas in the MG.
Passenger - In a car, about 160mph
Passenger - Bike, 165mph - Was on the back of my Dad's mates either R1 or Ninja 9R. Cannot remember which, I was only about 13/14 though and it certainly livened me up a bit :p

135mph indicated, straight road out of work at about 2am after an afters shift. Bottled going faster, still some go in the car but again, decided I was going a bit too quick for my talent. Saab 9000 Aero.

Don't know to be honest whether I would do it again, its the only road I've ever gone faster than 100mph on as 99.9% of the time there are no cops, especially after an evening shift. Too worried about my licence to do it on more public roads!

theoretically, if i had a porsche panamara infront of me providing a slip stream i could have seen 155(unknown unit of speed) on the clock.

also on the autobahn, the golf has seen 6600rpm in 5th which equals 142, again units of unknown speed

Wait, so because your Dad wouldnt take you out, you stole your Mums moped, drove it like a fool and crashed it?

Seriously?

GSXR1000 - 178 MPH
E39 M5: 185 MPH

I had this dream where I was driving an E39 M5, chasing my brother who was on my GSXR1000, trying to see which would be quickest flat out..

The E39 had Carbon GruppeM intakes, full Milltek exhaust and mapped/delimited (442BHP at the flywheel), the GSXR was bog standard.

The bike topped out easily at it's 186MPH Limited speed (178MPH GPS), I went passed him quite easily in the M5, but having no GPS, had no idea what the real speed was, I'd estimate 185ish? The needle was off the clock (Goes up to 180).. :)

It was only after the fact that I pinched myself and realised that I wasn't dreaming..

Off of the 160mph clocks of my Astra vxr on my way to the ring last year (probably nearer high 150s/160 actual given 155max stock speed and my torque and power advanrage over stock 335lbft 305bhp)

edit: stock top speed 152 mph
