Bahrain Grand Prix 2012, Sakhir - Race 4/20

From the BBC
BBC Sport's chief F1 writer Andrew Benson:BREAKING NEWS "I'm hearing from reliable sources that Force India are going to skip
second practice because their staff are refusing to travel in the dark - hence running soft tyres now. Force India say they 'wouldn't
want to comment on that' for now."

well they have an organised protest at the circuit today at 4pm local time according to BBC, will see how that goes I guess. The protesters off course would love to latch onto F1 as it will make them much bigger news again.

Re Force India and FP2 - I'm told Ecclestone and the Bahrainis want to avoid the embarrassment, so expect negotiations between now and FP2 @andrewbensonf1

Waiting at Force India for confirmation of whether the team will or will not run in FP2. Discussions still taking place I understand. @LeeMcKenzieF1

Can anyone really imagine an F1 car with a football team badge on the nose?

More on Force India story...

Force India deny they discussed their decision to end FP2 early with Bernie Ecclestone, who was in their garage #BBCF1 @andrewbensonf1

Force India tell me they'll start FP2 get crucial work done, pack up and leave in day light to get team back safely @LeeMcKenzieF1

Force India Bob Fernley says it's still possible they may miss the whole of second session @andrewbensonf1

Force India's Bob Fernley also said that whilst he supports the Bahrain Grand Prix, team safety is paramount @LeeMcKenzieF1

What doesn't make sense to me is that Force India are claiming they want to leave in daylight hours for safety, and that they are fully committed to full running in qualifying and the race.

BUT qualifying is the same time tomorrow as FP2, and there is another protest scheduled for 4pm then too. What will be different about the situation tomorrow?

I can only assume the full story hasn't been told here.

If Force India don't feel safe, then they should go home. This halfway stance doesn't make any sense.

Although, Bernie is there today, may have something to do with it.

So thats why Bernie was having a meeting with them (was mentioned during FP1) and also did some runs on the soft tyres, which no other team does (or would normally do in FP1).

FP2 in 30 mins :)
