Horner : well these aren't properly red bull engines yet, we've just taken them over from Honda and had to put our name on them. They'll stop failing once they are ours....

Glorious to see although it destroyed my fantasy f1 points with max's retirement.

Race was good at the beginning that gaggle of cars able to battle for the first 2 laps was great. Bit boring in the middle but considering the tyres were Conservative degradation seemed high and not many marbles so should make for some good racing over the course of the season.

Merc celebrated on the wall like they'd won, hopefully they get up to speed quickly and mclaren recover some of the speed they had at Barcelona to make it a more open battle. Great to see midfield passes happening too. Really think it'll be different teams strong at different tracks all season long based upon the speed differential between cars in different segments today.

I feel bad for Perez, I've always liked him as a driver and seems like a nice guy too.

It's really nice to see Ferrari both having a fast car and competently managing a race. With their driver line up they have a great shot at both championships this year if they keep it up.

It feels like Merc are in huge trouble to be honest. Close to a second per lap down (might be a bit overstated due to tyre choice in this race) in race pace and 0.7 down in qualifying is rough. If it's true that their engine is significantly behind the others then even if they manage to fix their aero woes within a couple of events [doubt] then I don't see how they can compete over a season. They've shown they can't be written off though, but it would be an epic turn around.

If Merc can pull their socks up soon, this could be the best season ever!

As it stands Ham with DRS was still not as quick as Perez, which shows a lack of power.

I did see an article where Mercedes stated they were running higher down force than other teams which was impacting their top end speed rather than a specific issue with engine power.

I think that is a win for merc - they need to limit the damage while they catch up - ideally for them they would get a double Ferrari DNF next week; they need Ferrari and RB to take points off each other and not let one team to get too far ahead.

Haaaaaasss!
Great race, mixing up the mid field.

Great to see a Ferrari comeback, and hat off to Lewis for acknowledging them.

Once Merc get it together will be nice to have three teams fighting.
