Presume we'll see some of those sausage kerbs removed due to the excessive damage they can cause, f1 don't want someone spearing off at high speed when they lose all downforce middle of the corner.

Those things need to go anyway, they'll end up properly hurting someone sooner or later - Abbie Eaton fractured her back because of one last year, that should have been enough to make people consider whether they're really worth it.

I suspect his media team will have had a word, not to mention the time to cool off a little.
It's just one race and they have the performance to spare to gain reliability if needed.

Hope not.

Drivers need to learn to avoid and stay within white lines.

If they make a mistake and go off, then there should be a punishment for it, do damaged car and slower lap times seems fair enough, if not end of race.

Although i have always firmly believed proper full gravel traps should be brought back not the massive run off areas.

And if they were forced off due to another driver's antics?

lol we're way past toxic, as I've previously mentioned, it's just downright childish and embarrassing. Like listening to teenage girls in an American high school drama.

What a race, really enjoyed it, lots of drama. If Honda get the power unit issues sorted then it's going to be a really interesting battle, great to see 3 teams in it. Pleased for Haas too, rare a smaller team makes legitimate progress.

Exactly - I couldn’t describe it better myself - yeah good to see Haas and Alfa making progress - kinda showing up the bigger budgets of Alpine and Aston

A perfectly reasonable interview from Max there.

Yeah time to calm down probably

Agreed, but not at the cost of safety. If they're avoiding the kerbs anyway they shouldn't be needed.

These things have already broken a driver's back. That's not in any world an acceptable "punishment".

Let's not forget that Red Bull were pretty much constantly reminding their driver to cool the brakes throughout the race as well.

So after one race they have MGU-K worries, fuel starvations issues, brake temperature issues.

Did they actually do any full race simulations over the tests?

It's a good question, next race will be interesting to see if they've bandaged any of the problems. Going to be a difficult start to the season if the start hemorrhaging easy points to the other teams with reliability problems.

That racked up the second most laps, so I assume they did all the testing they wanted. Still not quite the same as an actual race though, with 20 cars on track, safety cars, etc.

Ok i didn't know about that accident.
Cannot find any video that shows exactly what happened either, so difficult to discuss with zero context.

But if they are dangerous then yes get rid.

Put proper gravel traps back, then you will not need kerbs, at all a wheel over the white line and into the gravel.

Or put large concrete walls around the edge of all circuits, like Monaco Singapore, Montreal.

Horner said they only did one full race sim during the Bahrain test.

Funny to hear Ted reporting that “Horner” and “karma” are trending on Twitter.
