Baldur's Gate 3

What is top 5 or even 3?
Not asking me but I can't decide if I prefer baldurs gate 3 or divinity 2.
Divinity 2 made me think larian can make excellent RPGs so I knew when they announced baldurs gate 3 it would be good.

My top 3 I think would include lots of final fantasy. But to make the list less boring I'll only include final fantasy as 1 so I would say:

1.final fantasy
2. Dragon age origins
3. Divinity 2

BGII
Planescape Torment
BG
Rogue Trader
Icewind Dale

Not a single one would be on my list :p

Love Final Fantasy games up until 9. Sadly they lost the plot after that.

Have not played Divinity 1 and 2. But I did enjoy Divinity Original Sin a lot. Did not enjoy Divinity Original Sin 2 however. Still waiting to be completed. I found the characters and story a bit boring. Something just did not gel with me.

It is why I was hesitant with BG3. Was worried I would not like it. It did take like 20 hours for me to get into it. And even now I like it, but dont love the characters or the world.

Your list doesn't count, you don't even read stuff in-game. Don't think CRPGs are really your thing.

Agree on characters and world though, couldn't care less unfortunately. I think the voice acting didn't help. Also FF is not a CRPG. Not sure why it's mentioned.

Yep. My opinion does not count. Nor does anyone else frankly. Only Noxia's opinion matters

No, just yours doesn't. Didn't say mine did
The only other crpg you have mentioned is Divinity. That's it. So without searching a list to see what others exist. What are your favourite or what others have you played.
Because it reads a lot like you just Fomo'd into this game because of the hype*

*Appreciate you didn't as it had to reach TNA's magical price point :p

Joker. I was playing Wasteland 3 until recently got distracted by games like HFW. I was actually planning on resuming that instead of starting BG3, but in the back of my mind something said why drop £35 on it and let it sit there to play a game you got for a few quid.

Oh and I was playing Atom rpg last year also. You can find all my posts if you don't believe me. Also played Encased a couple of years ago which I enjoyed.

Once I am done with my backlog of games, I plan on trying Colony Ship. That looks like something I might enjoy :)

Have you seen that one? Crgp and sci-fi :D

Oh yeah I remember now. It's a series I need to revisit because obviously it had a Fallout vibes to it but I never really played it enough but I get it's quite highly rated.
I do believe you lol, just you're one of the few people who take as good as you give with the bait

I can't play those games too much though, they are generally very long and I have to be able to commit quite long sessions to play them, not good for a dip in and out.

Edit: just looked at colony ship, looks right up my street thanks but not for £32!. Reminds me, I've never played those shadowrun games either.

Yep. It is good. I actually never got to finish it though after putting in a lot of hours.

;):D

Yeah, some can't take it or take it the wrong way. It has blown up in my face a few times. Humbug always comes to mind everytime. Pointed out a few things that were documented facts and he lost his **** and put me on ignore

Same here. I know exactly what you mean.

Yep. I am not paying that either. By the time I am ready I am hoping it will be a tenner or so on a key site or maybe even a part of humble choice :p

LOL, I don't really care about anything strong enough to get wound up generally. Plus never had an issue if I'm corrected when presented with facts or challenged to think about something in another way, but wasn't always like that!

Got a 5 day weekend this week due to BH, my non-working day and 'privilege day', so depending on weather and any spontaneous plans, think I'll power through Act II, it's such a depressing area I want to get out of it ASAP. Not going to burn myself out though, need to find that right pace where I don't leave it too long and forget what is going on, but not too much that I groan whenever I realise just how big an area is and feel I CBA. Sometimes I consider just putting combat on to the easiest but as there is so much of it, I feel I may zone out if I don't have to think too hard about it any more.
If it gets to the point of not finishing it or reducing difficulty then I will reduce it, guess there's a reason they call it 'story mode'. Was like that with the Yakuza games too.
Acutely aware I need to get Elden Ring to a state where I can enjoy the DLC. Problem is my 100h save was on PS5 and I'm not buying another one just for that lol.

Managed to get in like 30 minutes last night. Trying to finish the puzzle where you have to find and put the swords in correct place. Did that bit but now need to find where you put the things you get from that.

With a bit of luck might manage to do that tonight.

Now I am wondering when done in the creche if I should go back to the underdark and cross from there into act 2 or do it from the mountains.

Which one gives more xp? :p

Gonna spoiler this just in case you do not know.. it’s about an optional character.

did you knock out / leave minthara alive ? As you can recruit her in the moonrise towers ! (Second act I think) she starts off as a paladin.

Pretty sure I killed her

Going to stick with my current party for the rest of the game anyways :D

Both give the same iirc but one is significantly easier. Not telling which though.

I am going to go back to my original choice which was through the underdark. Probably will turn out to be the harder one

Is it? :p

Fair enough :p you’ve still got so much game left to look forward to. I’m jealous - wish I could erase my memory and do it all again.

If your memory is anything like mine, in 5 years you will be able to :D

Probably why I enjoy replaying games so much :p

I mean I don't forget everything, but enough to enjoy it again. Other games I just enjoy replaying a lot regardless like classic Resident Evil games.

By the time I get to retirement age my steam library will be so big and my memory will probably be in such a state where I won't need any more new games. By the time I finishing going through them all and start again they will keep feeling like fresh experiences

Same! My memory isn’t what it used to be either. Some games I decide to replay I forget parts, like what I don’t remember this !?

Im currently in the middle of a dark urge play thru - but have sidelined it for now. (Elden ring was priority before shadow of erdtree expansion!) I also find it difficult to play an evil / sarcastic ******* :P

Who’s your main party ?

I also managed an hour last night. Got into a sticky situation which I had to save scum through but I think it's inevitable it will get worse at some point, playing character as Dirge but suppressing it and doing a good play through.

Dirge spoilers
I got to the point where I was going to kill Karlach in the camp, I failed the save the first time and the whole camp attacked me after I killed her, no way I will win that fight plus will be boring playing with the made-up characters, so I just reloaded until I got out of it. I feel something will happen later that is unavoidable, like Alfira

Thinking I might skip a bit of the optional content, I really don't like the shadow cursed lands or whatever they're called.
