Baldur's Gate 3

I’m a good few hours in and covered a bit of ground now. I keep stumbling across battles which seem above my level so am busy circling around trying to level up and go back to tidy up (assuming baddies don’t level with you).

I was 30 hours into playthrough number three but made the mistake of playing without an internet connection (fibre box stopped working for 4 days) and it seems the cloudsync function can bugger up your ability to load already saved games. Resorting to reddit shows this not to be uncommon: it's the "75% or 81%" load error. Very annoying so uninstalled.

Just started. 12 hours in. The voice acting / story telling / animations / dialogue etc are 10/10. I am very overwhelmed by all the systems, attacks, spells, actions, movement etc. Also trying very hard to not look up things as it’s going to ruin a natural play through. Already had spoilers looking up info on areas.

Yeah, my one and only advice for this game would be don't look up anything online, and don't be a completist. Get other stuff on the next playthrough. If you complete everything and get all the XP, the game becomes too easy.

I completed this amazing game ages ago, one of the best RPG's I have ever played.
Tried loading it up and playing as the dark urge, but I get about as far as halfway through the first act and lose the will to play it anymore :). It's still an amazing game but I rarely do another playthrough of RPG's

Yeah that’s why I tried to do everything I could on the first run because I knew it was like unlikely I’d do a second and I was right.
I say do as much as you can because imo act 2 and 3 are no way near strong enough to warrant subsequent play through.

Edit. I can’t recall if I did actually do two play through or just saved at a certain point and took different directions. Either way, act 1 is one of my favourite parts of any CRPG.

Picked this up after new year (having followed since release, but at least has been fully tested now)
Went with a githyanki ranger, which seems a reasonable choice - have had some interesting interactions with Lia-zeal!
Just follow my own story and talk to everyone - had a couple of surprises in Act 1 so far, like a barn!
Started exploring mountain pass, having found a way to the alternative route first. Seem to be hoarding scrolls!
As I seem to be doing a mostly "good" playthough, looking forward to an evil drow bard on next playthrough, whenever that is!

I knowingly (well, in retrospect) skipped some bits to save for another play through like the whole owl bear area in act 1. I didn't realise I could go down there until I was like level 5 and going after Ethel so I left that bit for another time.

Just got to the end of act 2 for the first time with my human goodie two shoes bard. 100 hours and counting. Some really tough fights like the merregons (unintentional fight in the first place that caused a wipe) and the mind flayers that seem to love Laezel's brains were in contrast to the boss fight that I somehow managed to do in like 3 turns each phase.
