Baldur's Gate 3

so was this yet another early access scam?

it's weird how early access games have the longest dev cycles... they don't sell well for a reason then get abandoned?

I wouldnt say so no, its still due for its full release in 2023 and so far act 1 has changed several times, its been easy to already get 50+ hours of gameplay out of act1 with the changes that have been happening and a lot of content has already been added and altered over its time. Including entire new mechanics and classes. Many people have already had their monies worth and its not even out yet fully. I've not yet seen anything in it that I would consider labelling a scam.

Still have some original D&D floppy disk based games (Menzoberranzan amongst others), Baldurs, Icewind, NeverWinter, DragonsAge etc.

Looking forward to the final release. Like other's, have stayed away from the early access so that I can enjoy it in it's entirety when released. You can also tell the passion of the developers regarding the project, so expecting good things from what I've seen.

I need to replay II I think, it was my first CRPG and I loved it. Never done a full 1 - 2 playthrough with expansions. I just found out there is a Warhammer40k CRPG called Rogue Trader coming out soon, makes me wonder how many other games I am simply unaware of.

If you do full play-through of 1 and 2, make sure you collect the pantaloons and keep them throughout the story. Can help a lot at the end.

Just googled it, don't recall seeing the silver ones in II but then this was before I had proper internet so couldn't just go on google and ask what they were for. I'll probs go with the DE editions rather than old ones and fanny about trying to get to work.

Edit: I got BG Enhanced Edition already, not sure if there was another release.

was on the fence for a whlle and deceded to get it while i have some time off. Its my firs Baulders Gate Game.
i do like the music,
There does seem to be a good amount of exploration and hidden items.

i dont always understandthe dialog as in what it intoning nd then the subsequent actions.
i.e. i broke down a door of a delapidated building obviouslt not in use but when i did that the npcs became hostile to me..

but always carry a shuvel i learned! never know when its usfull..

i can see my self getting my moneys worth, TBH even if i dont complete it and get a good 50+hrs out of it i'd be happy with what i'm seeing.

I've been watching this closely, came close to purchasing it a few times but now we know we got a release date I'm gonna hold on. I want to play this in its entirety. Loved divinity 2 probably one of my best games of all time and this looks like a very similar title but in a baldurs gate world.

same dev team for Divinity Oiginal Sin 2, the Launcher even shows DOS2.
I've played a litof DOS2 and i can see the same level of details in both. and DOS2 is highly rated so unless they really mess this up it should have a similar feel and depth to it.
my main grip is the steam streaming support isnt that great becuase the Launcher gets in the way :/ and i now tream all my games for noise reduction reasons.

Release date announced for this now. August 31st 2023. Also they announced that anyone who bought the early access or preordered at any time will have their version automatically upgraded to the Deluxe edition for free.
