Baldur's Gate 3

I caved and picked this up yesterday, due to my terrible internet its still downloading but I'm at work anyway so its a good thing.

Tried to play the original games a few times in the past and just didn't have the patience, played and really enjoyed both Divinity games but as with so many RPG's I play for 20 or so hours and then after a break don't know what to do next or where I was, I'm hoping with having at least a year to dabble in this by the time the final build comes out I'll be ready to commit.

just picked up a 1080 so looking forward to seeing how good it looks too :)

Still staying strong and waiting for the game to be released in full. Got a serious RPG back catalogue that will probably keep me busy till it's finished

I bought it too cause it was on offer on Steam but I'm going to wait until full release before I read reviews and dive in.

I have it on my wishlist but am not paying £50 to play a pre-release. Will wait for the full game.

I like rpg games, but most of them are too linear, hoping this one isnt too much like that.

Not interesting in playing this in it's early access state.

I don't want to ruin it when it does finally release.

Same.

I'm one of those not at all into early access titles.

What, you want me to pay for the privilege of testing your alpha/beta games for you?

Thanks, but no thanks.

Here is the live stream from yesterday. It does contain some game play but if you don't mind a minor spoiler it was hilarious to watch yesterday ! :D :p

May as well call it divinity 3 that's not baulders gate

will wait for a sale.

In terms of camera angle etc its not Baldurs Gate, but that video shows quite well that the game itself is very much Baldurs Gate, especially in terms of story writing, player arcs and character skills (in fact, in many instances more like actual D&D Baldurs Gate than even Baldurs Gate was)

Having said that, I liked Baldurs Gate and I liked Divinity Original Sin, so its a win-win for me. For me, it would be like wanting a burger and turning down a Burger King because its not a McDonalds, when both would happily fill my desire for a burger :D

Its not like we're blessed with good RPGs but with Baldurs Gate 3 and Pathfinder 2 on the way, thats a good 1000 hours of quality RPG on the horizon. Noice !

Have bought it previously and felt quite underwhelmed. Div 2 was far superior, so far. Felt like a very tired formula that offered almost nothing to the genre.

Hopefully changes and the full game will improve things.

The genre is what it is, nothing new needs to be brought to it. All it is a great story based on whatever ruleset is used.

Pillars is still the better game though :) Although 2 was bit boring with the ship travel instead of large landmass.

Maybe one day I can get my dream game of a ISO Rpg with player made dungeons to allow for endless content.
