BARGAIN - OcUK 24" with DVI (*VA Panel) for £179.99+VAT (This Week Only Deal!!)

hmmm i just reading through the manual and this version has a light sensor at the top of the monitor, what this does i dont know, i think it ajusts the brightness etc in diff lighting situations.
Another point, that confirms, that it's one and the same unit all over Europe (although with different brand names), as mentioned in the Yuraku Datasheet (optional Ambient Light Adaptation).

Is is actually working? Just test it by covering the sensor, the brightness should then be dimmed automatically.

I think it will get brighter as you dim the sensor, no?

Hi there

I never spotted a light sensor on the one I was using. I remember reading it in the manual where it was basically mentioning some models may have DVI, speakers and light sensor all of which are optional.

Now the one I was using I make no recall of seeing a sensor anywhere or anything in the OSD options regarding one.

So Tizor you sure its actually got one as I do not think they have.

I have a quick question about the VGA and DVI inputs, can you hook up two devices and switch between them? For example I have my PC which I would hook up via DVI and an Xbox 360 which I would hook up by VGA.

Also what resolutions does it support, can it display 1360x768 (WXGA).

Was going to buy myself one for my birthday in Jan as my 17" videoseven I bought back in September 2005 from OcUK has a very bad problem of image persistance at the top where window bars are, it seems to be getting worse over time. This one looks great and should be a nice upgrade.

Hi there

Yes you can hook up two devices and switch between them.

Not sure on the resolution support but I can't see it been any problem.

Gibbo, I'm going down to the shop on Monday morning to buy the parts for my new rig, what's the chances of me getting this monitor at the this price and will i be able to pick up an 8800GT while i'm there?

Also can someone comment and possibly show pictures of this monitor gaming at 1680 x 1050, Does it look as good as a 1680 x 1050 TFT would? It seems to be the only question that's not been answered yet!

You might have to wait til more peeps have them m8, unless you can ask Tizor nicely & get him to do it :)

(think he'll be too busy enjoying it in its full 1920 glory though ;))

HI there

Our BFG 8800 GT delivery will arrive between 1pm-3pm Monday. What I can do is reserve you an 8800 GT as long as its a BFG one and I will honor the weekend special price on the monitor for you as well for when you come to collect Monday afternoon. Hope thats acceptable? :)

well i starting gaming at 1680x1050 and it looks great, and there is defo some kind of sensor lense at the top of the monitor, might be just a dummy lense as it doesnt affect the monitor at all if i cover or put a light source to it.

edit just been on the OSD and there is an option for auto dimming at but its greyed out so i dont think its got it.

Thanks for the reply Gibbo, is this a fully glossy monitor like MacBooks have and also does it have a power brick or does it have a inbuilt power supply (Eg. just an AC lead to plug it in).

Thanks

I may order everything online in case the monitor as any dead pixels etc. as it will give me better cover, If i do order online will i be able to get a BFG 8800 GT sent out with my complete order on Monday?

Will make a final decision tomorrow as i was going to get a 22" pebble but when you can have a 24" @ 1920 x 1200 for the same price its a no brainer :D

Thanks

My brother has a DGM monitor and the text on it seems to be abit blurred with a ghost like shadow behind it, is this an issue on this monitor with text sharpness etc?

Also how long is the deal on for on monday and what price does it go up to after? (I'm still waiting for an RMA request from OcUK to make sure I can afford this but I would hate to miss out on the deal if I didn't get a reply in time) Cheers.

Hi

This monitor sounds liek it might be worth a punt

I have a question - is it possible to remove the DGM logo? It looks a bit ugly and standso ut a bit too much

Also how reflective is the black parts of the case?

Can someone post more pics??

Hi!

Remember that the Distance Selling Act only applies if you get the item/s delivered to you by post/courier and not if you buy via the Shop. But if you do prefer the item/s delivered to you via post/courier you have an option of returning as long as you keep the item in a re-sellable condtion :)
