BARGAIN - OcUK 24" with DVI (*VA Panel) for £179.99+VAT (This Week Only Deal!!)

is there no way to extend this deal at all? maybe put it on again next week or soemthing?

i think a lot mroe peopel may buy if some proper pics and reviews are put up... the current risk is also a lot of returns.

I was going to order my new rig tomorrow which includes a 22" Pebble and a BFG 8800GT but then this monitor comes out and now I don't know what to do, Trouble is if i wait for reviews then the 8800GT's will all be out of stock again :(

We really need some user reviews covering gaming at 1680 x 1080 including comparison pics.

Gibbo, cant you add this deal into the current this week only so we can get a few user reviews in the next day or two.If they come back good i`m sure they`ll really start to fly off the shelves.

I would also like the deal to be extended to allow time for reviews to appear before making my mind up.

I feel pressurised into buying it this weekend but i'm holding off for now. :)

Trouble is if propper reviews and comparisons turned out not to be favorable then OcUK will be stuck with a lot of monitors.

Noticed that one of those bargain websites haven't rated it too high because it's an unknown. Someone posted the following. "Hmm cold votes, why? OcUK have a very good habit of getting in "mostly" premium items (there are always a few naff bits everywhere of course). This panel actually has a good specification and is at a silly price - I did well to get my 22" LG for £210 back in May, so this is a good saving, so long as you are comfortable with a "lesser" brand."

And for me it's that "lesser brand" that's starting to make me think twice, please bring on the reviews.

But it's not as though it's got some 1 year crummy warranty... it's got 3 yr on-site warranty, which is similar to Dell warranties. Also as long as you keep the monitor in pristine condition you have the DSA to fall back on. I think it's a very low risk as it stands.

However I think TiZoR could be doing a lot more to post some good feedback and testing of the monitor today. :p

Fair comments pumaz.

Some more pics and further comments would be great.

It just baffles me that there are similarly priced 24" monitors (with similar specs) for double the price.

There always is a catch, question is wheres the catch here.

Sorely tempted. But very cautious.

It's the panel inside that counts, not so much about the brand of the monitor. Samsung are famous for having a single model with at least 3 different panel types inside, it was a lottery if you would get a good one, OcUK are guaranteeing that this batch of 1000 are all the same type, something hard to find out from many of their competitors if at all. If you're not sure but don't want to miss the offer then buy it and don't unpack it until you're happy with the reviews.

Yep, I understand that - but I think its better to let people make an informed chocie - especially as they are obliged to accept returns if peopel don;t wnat them - overall it might be a better option for them as it may lead to a lot more sales - quite a few peopel are unsure until they reviews.

Still not sure, its a lot of hassle to send back a huge monitor

It's either this or the Dell E248WFP for me. The Dell ticks all the right boxes apart from it having a TN panel which isn't the end of the world. With OcUK's 24" monitor it's the not knowing if it supports HDCP & 1:1 Pixel Mapping which is holding me off purchasing at the moment.

I'm getting mine on tuesday and I will post my thoughts on it then.

To me name brands dont mean that much and remember the panels are all made by a handful of manufactures anyway so good chance this is the same panel as a more expensive brand name.
