Nope, shiny = TN. Btw we're talking about the screen itself not the surrounds. This shows how obvious the difference is for anyone who is still not sure. See the left PVA screen doesn't produce a clear reflection? -I thought the glossy screens were the *VA panels?
If it was picked up today then you will receive the replacement on Thursday.
can anyone recommend me a good graphics card which can run this monitor at 1900 x 1200 resolution without juddering and stuff?
I will NOT be gaming though!
Needs to be AGP and ideally passively cooled or quiet running.......

Not my pictures btw, hope the people who took them don't mind. They are both from this thread.
Weird indeed, although that glossy picture is taken right next to a window which is gonna make it look more reflective. Or it could be that the panel type and finish aren't tied together. Did you get the whole inverted/pale colours thing when looking from above/below?Ok, now that's interesting. I've RMA'd my monitor, because it's a TN panel. However, it's not glossy like that reflection. In fact, it looks like the matte one.
Weird...
Always going to be a personal thing. Glossy screens look great most of the time, but if you have a light source behind you or a window nearby, the reflection is easily visible. Take a look at the shot of the TN panel above and imagine you were sat next to that window trying to watch a dark movie, all you would see would be the reflection. Personally I find matt screens more useable.Hmmmm, whats the deal on these "glossy" screens?
what's wrong with that?Slightest bit of sunlight and all you can see in it is yourself

I wouldn't be surprised if it's just a different revision/panel. Might be worth buying the TN listed ones from OcUKThis makes me wonder if the glossy screen isn't even related to TN panels...
