If you happened to want to connect the monitor to a Playstation 3 (DVI - HDMI), lack of HDCP would be an issue as, as far as I know, you would not be able to view any content from the PS3 whatsoever.
I see on the website that they have two versions of the OCUK 24" monitors - one with a TN panel and a VA panel. Apart from the viewing angle and glare, is there any difference in the panel screen quality?
I've just looked and there is only one version of the 24" monitor on the site. It claims to be a VA panel and to be glossy black. Miles and miles back on this thread someone claims the glossy ones are TN film not VA and it seems some of these have been swapped out by OCUK.
I have one of the glossy ones and it doesn't manage the 180 - 180 veiwing angle so I suppose it is a TN film one. To be fair, it looks very impressive and as I was using it into a corner the viewing angle was not an issue. I only started to notice this when I passed it to my wife and put in on a shelf of her desk. Sitting the, and looking up at the monitor opnme could see the darker top quarter of the screen.
The best advice is to make sure what you are sent is a VA panel as described and to RMA a TNfilm one if you are sent one.
Thanks for that, Countcussy! I have been quite confused with the whole thing. My monitor is glossy all over, screen as well and is a good mirror when switched off.
The good news is the OCUK have just emailed me to ask to a pick up date to swap it out! That seems to sort things. It also shows that it pays to buy from a godd supplier !
Thanks for the advice. I did what you said and came up with
LG-LM240WU3-TLA1 (There may be another digitafter the '0' but I can't get it to do it again.)
That's not quite like your codes, Kikifr, any ideas from it?
Thanks for any help.
