BARGAIN - OcUK 24" with DVI (*VA Panel) for £179.99+VAT (This Week Only Deal!!)

now this is looking good, Fezster! I just got two emails to say the new and replacement one are going out today for delivery tomorrow, but under two different City Link numbers. They should arrive together though,

I may sound paranoid, but the trouble some people have had with these monitors, I really don't believe anything until I see it. I'll report back tomorrow with the results of checking the deliveries. *crosses all fingers and thumbs*

So what happened precott ? did you receive the monitors ?

Right, Just received a replacement one for the TN Film one I bought a couple of weeks ago and the new one I ordered.Guess what? Yes, you are right - I have 2 TN panel ones. To be fair where I used it it looked quite good but it is not what I paid for.

Needless to say I have sent webnotes for a pick up and replace and can't guess what I might get next. 2 more TNs perhaps?

Huh, Moores28! You got a good panel I must say. How did you manage it? as you can see all I get is TN film.

I ordered mine, along with a mouse and mouse mat, a day before the price dropped by £20. When I RMA this TN version can I get a refund (and if so will I get a partial refund on shipping) and re-order at the lower price?

I would have put money on me receiving the TN panel :/

What you could do is get a refund on your TN panel then place a fresh order. The problem with this though is that you will lose out on your postage, though I think you will still be £10 better off, providing the price is indeed £20 lower compared to what you originally paid.

Oh dear, bad luck I suppose - like me!

I doubt you will get any money back from OCUK if you ask for a replacement although asking for it to be picked up measn they pay for carriage both ways so there is no more cost to you.

Of course, you could always claim, and be right, that the screen they sent was not the one you ordered and ask for a refund. That ought to get you the money you paid for the screen but not the carriage. You could then order another one. Frankly, though, I can't think it is worth the effort, especially as you want good service and the company looks like it has been duped by the supplier,Digimate.

Those who have the real thing, like Moore28, are very very impressed so I reckon to havea collect and replace is the best bet - it is what I am doing anyway!

Sorry to hear that ........

Surely this isn't on ? OcUk know there is a problem, and whilst there is a cost associated with checking each and every screen, that cost should be taken on by them as the retailer - NOT the customer, who is having to return items, wait for couriers and take time off to do it all.

Sorry dude, I cant really see how anyone can defend OCUK in this one, given the fact that this has now been going on for quite some time.

I think OCUK need to take some positive action, eg, opening up boxes to check for the correct panel OR allowing the customer to keep the TN monitor (should they receive one) and giving refunding the price difference between the TN and VA monitor.

To continue sending out TN panels and make false promises that the problem is 100% sorted is just wrong.

When this initially occurred, I admit, it was not OCUK's fault as they had no idea what was going on. However, now, they know exactly what is going on and they seem to be quite happy to continue sending out TN monitors.

What I can say is that when the correct monitor is sent out, it is very impressive. I bought an earlier model and it compares well with my Sony CRT monitor, beating the CRT in some areas. Im not dissapointed at all with it.

The OCUK Value 24" VA monitor is being sold for an excellent price, but only when you receive the correct panel.

Hi fezster.

I would have though the checking of the screeens, (shiny TN, Matte VA) would take very little time and be cheaper that the charges for collection and return. As you can see, in my case they have had one return and replace and my new one is going to have the same so laxk or a quick check costs 6 courier journeys, maybe £30 - £40.

I feel rather annoyed that I have another week before I get to use a nice shiny new monitor, whoops matte one)
