BARGAIN - OcUK 24" with DVI (*VA Panel) for £179.99+VAT (This Week Only Deal!!)

Max settings 1920x1200 no AA, AF I'm not sure about but it has very little performance impact for me at 1680x1050 in any game.

Hmm fair comment. Using Fraps btw?

I suspect it will be very smooth at that res without AA or AF (I was running some AF when I tried it).

I dont even want to talk about Crysis though at those resolutions

I've spent all day researching 24" monitors and i'm begining to think my original plan (before this monitor arose) of getting a 22" Pebble might be the way to go.

Perhaps it's not quite the time to buy a 24" gaming monitor as it might be too much of an ask of current GPU's to play games at native 1920x1200 resolutions and i'm not sure a 24" monitor will compare when gaming at 1680x1050 to a 22"

My Dell 24" is great for gaming on... I'm just still uncertain as to whether I need another 1920x1200 of pixel space on my desktop...

What is a second 24" used for??

Does anybody know the name of this model? shes awesome!

Also.... does the pebble have the lottery panel or just an awesome panel ever time?

I decided to order of these based on the information from reading this thread all the way through. I'm hoping it's a good one as I currently have a 20" dell 2005FPW and it's quality is the best of any monitor I've had and excellent colours for my photography hobby. I'm a mac user so gaming isn't really an issue for me, it's mainly just the colour quality and and view angle (cause the dell is spot on) and the response rate because I watch TV on my mac with the TV tuner. Having a 24" should give me quite a bit more room to watch tv and do other stuff on the web without having to watch it in a tiny box, and also I do a lot of photo adjustments in aperture as I'm a keen photographer, the extra space should be great :D

Heres an interesting one. Are any of the monitors that are 22" on offer from OCUK, a PVA type monitor?

Hi there

There are no 22" VA type panels unfortunately, they are all TN. I've been begging Samsung for months to do a VA version of say the 226BW but guess they are not hearing it.

Also guys can I just say I'd never recommend or push a crap product on OcUK or these forums.
I've recommend this 24" to you all because its actually something I'd buy myself and be pleased with.

OK fair enough its not got the build quality as in the casing as say a DELL, but the panel inside this monitor is on par with those supplied in the DELL's and BenQ 24" models. However it still looks good on the desk as it is glossy black but the cheaper plastics used for the casing do make it lighter, I believe it only weighs 6-8kg and is very easy to move around.

For those of you who don't want to rush in then thats understandable so what I will do is also put this on our weekly offers on Wednesday, I can't obviously do the price as low as our weekend special price as that would not then make it really a weekend special but it will give those of you who decided to wait for reviews to get it at a discounted price again.
