BARGAIN - OcUK 24" with DVI (*VA Panel) for £179.99+VAT (This Week Only Deal!!)

Do you not feel it would be a little pedantic to return the monitor because of a dead pixel, the size of a spec of dust?
Dead/stuck pixels may be small, but they stand out, especially on movies and games. Imagine watching a dark scene in a movie with a bright green stuck subpixel on the screen the whole time. You do notice them.

If it is the size of a spec of dust, then surely, you wont even be able to see it, unless you are watching the movie with your head very close to the screen, which in itself, would be a little unusual. Right?

To be honest, some people are more likely to be annoyed by a dead pixel than others, it's just how they are, nothing wrong with that. I had some stuck pixels in my LCD and for a while they were blindingly obvious as I was constantly on the lookout for them, but over time I began to notice them less and less and now I have trouble finding them at all without dead pixel buddy.

I use a Sony 19" Aperture Grille Tube equipped monitor. It has 2 thin damping wire shadows that are visible on the screen as 2 thin wires, 1/3rd and 2/3rds of the way up the screen. I imagine they are far more obvious than a single pixel on a 1080p screen. People got by using these screens for years without complaint. In fact, a lot of people who demand the best images are still using these monitors (including myself), with no complaint.

For the record, I haven't seen any stuck/dead pixels on my DGM monitor.

I just find it difficult to understand how someone can actually see a pixel the size of a spec of dust and get annoyed by it. Perhaps it is something that has been promoted by people reading forums and reading about other people getting obsessed by dead pixels, so do the same themselves? Its similar to when people buy power supply units - very few of us need a 600W+ PSU, yet they insist on getting one...but thats a whole different story.

Anyway, I shall stop my ranting, back on topic...

I used to find the lines quite usful when doing drawings and diagrams and things, you could line stuff up on them :) At other times you just didn't notice them :)

Wrong, they can be very noticeable. Use an art package and make a big black picture, then add one bright green dot. Now imagine that near the centre of your screen playing a dark game or watching a dark film, it would annoy the hell out of a lot of people. It's a lot bigger than a spec of dust.

I've also got an aperture grille screen here (Dell P1130, sony tube) and the two lines are 5 times feinter than a line of pixels would be.

Just received mine and I got AU- m240uw01 v0 :D

Verry happy indeed! Excellent monitor, great colours/contrast/brightness.

No dead pixels so far.

Only downside is the base which makes the monitor leans a bit forward.

Heres some arty pics of my monitor :)

Nice arty snaps, shame most of them are of your desk and not the monitor lol :D

Not saying that your desk and surroundings aren't nice, quite the opposite :)

Done a webnote but wanna see what other people have had.

What are ocuk like about backlight bleeding?

Phones are perma busy for me (tried for an hour). The corners are annoying me now as I dont want a bright orange/green vista desktop, id like a black desktop :(

RMA process then refund? or do they only do retruns/exchange.
Month and 2 days old monitor btw.

EDIT: They answered, after a month no refund, only replace. Its only 2 days out of a month!
