BARGAIN - OcUK 24" with DVI (*VA Panel) for £179.99+VAT (This Week Only Deal!!)

Just Ordered myself a Yuraku, Adrianr : will i need a separate dvi male-male cable?

Got a great price on it, and i'm crossing my fingers for no dead pixels.

Aye unfortunately you will mate. They supply every cable you need bar that one! If it was the same as mine good price indeed ;) Wouldn't pay the extra for the contrast ratio to be honest!

Post your opinion please when it arrives, I've almost convinced my wife that i need one;)

There honestly isn't much to know if you've already read the thread regarding the DGM ones tyranus. It looks the same, functions pretty much the same, it's bloody large, and besides the good panel, you get what you pay for with the rest of it.

Oh, and 1920 x 1200 is just made of win. I found using a 30" cinema display a bit much (Not to mention the price!), never used a 27", but 24" just seems such a nice figure for home pooting. For the price it needs no convincing! ;)

Tbh, the only thing holding me back is the fact that the RMA service wont be as good as OCUK, if thats 2 confirmed va panels though it may just swing it:)

Is the build quality ok or is it obviously a cheaper manufacture?

I've got the same monitor. Definately VA. No dead pixels. Looks exactly the same as the DGM. HDCP enabled too.

Unfortunately the money has to be saved somewhere. However i can say, although the back of it is ugly as sin (who looks at the back?) the front end is actually quite nice. The panel is surrounded by the glossy black plastic, ever so thin silver rim, the blue on light right in the middle is a little annoying but then a black bit of leccy tape solves that one. It's really not a terrible looking screen. Just dont make a habit of touching it!

I may have to make some sort of stand modifications though. The weight of it is a little too much for the poor thing.

I believe tyranus was wanting to know if there were any differences between the build quality and looks of the DGM and the yuraku monitor. They are identical, even down to the blinding blue led at the front (apart from the manufacturer's logo of course).

Indeed, thanks for clarifying that.:)

Adrian, you mentioned the stand could be better?

Yeah. It's just a plastic clip in thing. It'l never fall over, don't get me wrong. But if i start typing violently it can start to rock and wobble. It really is too weak a stand for the size and weight of the monitor.

Refer to previous point about money having to be saved somewhere!

Maybe some kind of wall mounting may be a good move at some point..

OCUK for about £20-25 more (accounting for DVI cable!) or the yuraku....decisions...

Tempted to stay with the tried and trusted here...

Got the Yuraku model and it seems to be a great monitor for the price.

I have got a stuck pixel in the lower left hand corner, but its not noticeable unless you go hunting for it and may well clear once the monitor is in proper use.

I have the AUO v.03 panel and with a bit of adjustment to the default settings, the picture is very good and although it feels a little cheap when being handled, it actually looks fine.

I am more than happy with it.

Is the one on OCUK not a VA panel then? After seeing a mate with one of these i've been tempted to chuck out my 22" Samsung Pebble in favour of one of these.

I did ask this question before but did not get the answer.

What has more weight when the panel is considered:
the paper label on the back of the panel (seen through the grid) or the
Menu + option to get the model number?

From the label I get AU-M240UW01. V.3
From the Menu + I get AU-M240UW01 V0

So what is my panel?

Thanks!

Of course it is. There was a problem earlier, however, that is been fixed. No more TN panels are being sent out.

Chuck it out mate, get rid of that Samsung rubbish. What you do is come to London, let me know which bin you intend to throw it out in and at what time. Thats all I ask.

Haha ;) sadly it would cost me about the same price as the 24" Monitor for a return Train ticket to london!

Well almost!
