BARGAIN - OcUK 24" with DVI (*VA Panel) for £179.99+VAT (This Week Only Deal!!)

Has anyone bought one of these monitors and it just not work full stop? It worked for 5 minutes then died on me completely. Not very impressed lol

TN panels being sent out,

This problem has been sorted out now. OCUK are checking the contents of the boxes and are ticking the boxes containing VA panelled monitors.

loads of dead pixels and other stuff.

Nope. Most panels will have a few dead/stuck pixels. The higher the number of pixels (and the DGM has a lot), the greater the probability of there being dead/stuck pixels. On this forum there are a lot of people complaining of 1 dead pixel that they cant see under normal usage and are only able to locate them when using special software. Even the expensive Dell monitors can have dead/stuck pixels. Obviously a dead pixel guarantee would be best for someone who insists on 0 dead pixels.

Just reading through last few pages of this thread and some people are having to replace the monitor like six times? thats ridiculous lol

Yep. And a lot of that has been down to the TN panel debacle that has been sorted out. The DGM quality control dept isnt too great either, so you have a higher chance of getting a non-funcitioning monitor (compared to Dell, say) however, this is one area where DGM are able to save money and pass the savings onto the customer. This results in a DGM monitor that is cheaper than the competition and if you get a good one, has image quality to rival that of the more expensive monitors.

i am quite funny about things matching and that appears to have a silver border from pics i seen.

The other model does have a silver trim so you'd be better off keeping the second DGM from ocuk if you wanted both monitors to be perfectly matching.

I think they've have sorted the TN troubles out now anyway, but if you were to receive a TN they'll exchange it for a VA with minimal hassle to yourself.

Also, I reckon the peeps who keep mentioning the other model + price are doing a fine job of giving the mods perfect ammunation to close this thread, which would be a shame for the hundreds who've actually bought, or planning to buy theirs from ocuk.

I bought the screen for £245.50p with postage and to be honest, its great. no dead pixels, no odd thigns happening and the panel seems good. Stand is a little iffy, but for the price, its good.

If your after a 24" screen, buy one of these as i dont think you will get anything better for the price and then, if i see the guy who order all these for OcUK I will buy hima pint for saving me £200 on the dell 2408 screen i was thinking of getting.

GET IT..... you know you want too,

<ColiN>

Hooray, third time lucky and I've got two working V0 panels :D Awesome! :)

Took a while, but OC were quick with the two RMAs I had to do, and I don't blame them for this since all the boxes claim 180/180 viewing angles anyhow.

Steady on dude. Once OCUK had found out about the TN problem, they shouldve immediately started checking the contents of the boxes (which is what they are now doing). The fact is that they didnt do this immediately allowed the problem to continue for about 2 weeks and as a result, there were a lot of people who were mis-sold TN panels. Ultimately, the responsibility lies with the reseller, who in this case is OCUK.

Its all ended ok though, as OCUK finally took responsibility of the problem (albeit, belatedly) and sorted out the TN problem.

For the price, you cannot argue that this is a great monitor. The QC at DGM is a little suspect though.

Well after waiting in all day and then having to come to work i had no delivery. So much for paying for next day delivery and rushing my order through at the high price to get my monitor :(

Called city link who apparently couldnt get to my address due to roadworks so i wont be gettin my monitor until next week? Think i want some form of refund for the 'next day' delivery that wasnt next day. Spose now more than ever i could just order the other monitor. Well annoyed.

Btw i already have 1 DGM and its been fine no dead pixels or TN panel.

could you not just go and collect it from there depot , or you live long way from it .

Unfortunately its an hours drive and i dont drive :(

The thing is i should not have to go and collect something when i pay for next day delivery. Its not like they tried to deliver and i wasnt in, i was in all day. Its not like there was no access here as people been in and out all day in cars.

Simply seems to be a case of a lazy driver and its just really annoying. Will call them tomorrow and see if can get them to deliver it for me, if not will have to get a friend to go pick it up. Either way i am miffed at paying tenner delivery on an item to have to go and pick it up, or get it delivered to me like 5 days later.

I have just taken my DGM and i think it's a TN panel! Only ordered it on Thrusday, the failed to send it out for Friday delivery so i paid extra to get it today.

I cant seem to find the Red Menu you are all looking at to find out its panel version.

What do i need to check now, before i ring OCUK asking for them to collect and give me the monitor i ordered.

Reason why i think its TN is down to the viewing angles

Edit: Just found the Menu+ one and i get LG-LM240WU3-TLA1 so that means it is TN as i thought.... bloody joke!!

Jeez man that sucks. I got someone going to pick my monitor up today i hope from the depot, i called to complain........and didnt, damn it i cant complain lol.

Tell you what though, if i get a TN panel its game over i will just want a full refund, not having all the messing about that some people are having to go through thats for sure....though i prolly will cuz i cant complain lol

I'm glad it is a TN panel as not only does this one have a dead pixel in the middle left of the screen there is also a line full line going right across the screen at the bottom which has just appeared... full black line like a full row of dead pixels!

Well i think for a full line you could get a replacement anyway man. Am sorry to hear about your screen order being a screwup.

Got me worried now as mine was also ordered on thurs for a friday delivery so likely from the same batch as you. Luckily i didnt just pay extra for a saturday delivery!

Well OCUK have sorted out pickup and re-delivery of a new VA one for monday which is good, just would have thought they would still be checking these...

OCUK still seems to be quick on replacing wrong panels. This is good but it would have been better had they sort it out in the first place.

Has anyone who initially (let's say for a couple of weeks) have been happy with their DGM noticed deterioration of the quality? I am asking as I am currently happy with my V0 panel but should I expect any suprises in the near future?

Cheers.

But rules are rules, and no-one should be saying the price. I do believe mentioning other brands not available on this website isn't against the rules though?

Where can we find the rules on this? I had it in mind that mentioning price was ok, but you can't say where.
It's the sort of thing that should be in the FAQ section in my opinion.

omg i am losing the will to live....

out of like 6 monitors i have had one that is a VA and is working.

3 faulty VA ones and 2 TN(one was working but never unpacked second) and one working VA...

I should not be OCUK AQ team....

12 days waiting for deliveries is crap also so not sure if I will get replacement this time.

Well my first one seems to have 'dimmed' in the month i have had it. Looking at it next to my new one now and the new one has really bright really crispy colors wheras old one the white is more of a....grey...

Major problem tho which is why i am on here atm. The stand doesnt appear to be adjustable yet the second monitor tilts forward. Not just a little either, its quite bad. Is it possible to change the tilt somehow with the screws on the back? The top of the monitor is literally like 2cm infront of my first monitor despite them being next to eachother.

Also how do i get a wallpaper to stretch across the 2 screens as i made a super long one especially, or is it possible to set seperate wallpapers and i can split the one i made into 2?

Trawling through this thread looking for the panel list but cant find it, if anyone has it bookmarked or anything could you please tell me if this panel is decent or not please?
